Buy low, sell hi. Check out the resource threads as mentioned. One suggestion might be to find your niche item(s) you'd like to concentrate in. Gather price histories for those items in different systems and see what kind of profit margins you could get buying and selling them.

To take your example - find prices of veldspar in say 3 different regions and use a calculator to find out how much profit you can make.
There are no automated no-thinking-required tools to make isk. Trading is one skill that comes with experience and a few burnt fingers. Dive right in, do your own research in the market and come up with a niche you cam make isk in.
Of all possible "trades" in eve, mission running is the most brain-dead way to make isk. Trading, manufacturing, research etc take a lot more time analyzing and calculating and also reading and keeping up with the times.

What people above have tried to tell you and you apparently have missed is you need to use your OWN brain.

Adapt? I suppose you can call the death of intelligent posts a form of adaptation. the mods certainly are enjoining the extra exercise.

well if as you say you "thought" pre-existing tools existed, then I assume you have a brain cell or 2, and if so why didn't you employ them into finding those pre-existing tools. Have a click around the interweb and you never know, I wont help too much in that though i'm a firm believer that you have to exercise your brain cell or 2 every once in a while to get maximum effect.
Good luck and have fun
