This is my formal notice that I will no longer be a part of the MD forums.
This post is MD related, due to the previous business relationships that I have that have been dependant via MD communications, and how my self imposed exile relates to those relationships
With the changes that have occurred to MD since it has moved to the top of the Eve-O forums I no longer find them conducive to my business practices.
Those of you who wish to continue a business relationship with me may find me either on the Ebank forums, via MSN or through an evemail.
If any others are planning on taking such similar actions, just go ahead and sign this thread, if you wish. Of course you may choose to create your own thread like Hexxx, Proton Power and Shar Tegral, have already done.
disclaimer... I may choose to return at some point in the future, but unless MD goes back towards the bottom of the Eve-O forums, or somehow else reverts back to its past sense of community I seriously doubt I will return, except for the occasional post to purchase in on some IPO/Bond offering.

Other MD communications will no longer be viewed by me, so please I appolgize in advance to my business partners for any inconvience this may cause. -- Chribba's LoveQuest 17:00hrs Dec. 20th (Prizes!!)

I thought that all of the off topic posts would be made by 3 day old noobs. Silly me.
1) You are not selling any eve service; check.
2) You are not discussing any ingame(NPC or otherwise) related market mechanisms; check.
3) You are a self proclaimed "MD elite" as you think others care about your posting habits; check.
4) You are not discussing any market related theories or the various human elements of the ingame market; check.
The first five posts by the disenfranchised were cute, but now the rhetoric is getting boring. Please move along quietly, in a non-troll, or whiney manner. You guys act like you are the only ones that have made a dime using any facet of the market in in eve. Announcing the grand opening of a highly moderated forum where serious discussions and transactions take place would have more classy, along with an invitation with a warning that rules would be strict and the thin skinned need not apply. I would have repsected you more.
Instead you look like a kid taking his ball and going home.

It's not about making money, it's about the betterment of the community. Obviously you have no idea what that means. Treelox has assisted in the performance of the secondary market since 2005. Frankly if it wasn't for the "elites" that you whinge about the secondary market wouldn't be here, this forum would only be about discussing how Tritanium moved from 3 isk to 3.1 isk.
It doesn't matter. Morons like yourself have caused this forum to be nothing more than a cesspool. CCP have refused to answer our requests and what was once a great forum is now random like the rest of them. It's fine, people will continue moving over to our forums where people can speak about what they want (in the correctly designated forum categories).
I would say goodbye Treelox, but I will see you on the other side
This thread is important as it explains to people where Treelox is moving and why his posts here will be no longer.

This forum has become a joke it is bad news such "elites" leaving this community after helping the secondary market progress. I haven't been a big poster on here, mainly a lurker, but i only read the threads that have been created or replied to by well know MD posters.
Guess i'll have to go lurk on the e-bank forums instead now as alot of you guys are leaving/moving.

Wrong on both counts.
The title makes complete sense in the context it is provided, and under the circumstances the topic is completely market discussion related.
In case you haven't been paying attention, a painfully large number of the movers and shakers have decided to close down business here and move on. That has plenty of relevance for the market. Sure, life will go on, but such changes are part of the market landscape.

I welcome the opportunity for anyone who considers themslves "elite" so scuttle off and play with each other in their own sandbox. This forum is for the ENTIRE EvE community not an "elite" few to dictate to CCP how THEY want things run around here.

Be seeing you on Ebank then, Treelox. I won't say goodbye or anything relating to leaving because technically this is more of a change of residence thread than a leaving thread.

Funny seeing Taikunt act like he doesn't think he is an elite.
You calling anyone else elite is like a pot calling the kettle black.

There is room for everyone on our forums not just the elite. However our moderation and channel sections will ensure that people post in the correct areas. Someone asking for market help can post in the market help section whilst someone releasing a bond or selling a share can post in their relevant section.
CCP has stated they refuse to allow this functionality so we have decided to do it ourselves.
It's not about being elite or not, its about posting in the relevant area. If that had been done from the start last month we wouldn't be having this issue right now. Instead CCP has shown precisely how they feel about the situation and we have decided to adapt.

hummm? MD doesnt differ that much from 2 years ago. sure, the "regulars" arent around and ebank mostly killed the financial market. but i dont see any other dramatic change to topics or anything in that direction.
so, yes, i can agree that this place doesnt evolve: new bond? same inspection routine. new user? same me>u routine by the (very) old guys. new "what's up with..." thread? same manipulation accusations. etcetc
sure it gets boring, but sometimes one does learn things that got lost in patch notes or whatever. and i'm sure you'll still browse through this place on a regular basis ^^ - putting the gist back into logistics |

Lets be fair, these forums started going downhill at least a year ago. Frankly I'd say the forums started to become less and less useful around the time E-Bank came into existence. Before anyone jumps on that, I'm by no means saying E-Bank was the cause, merely that is about the time I would say things started going down hill.
I'd say the lead cause of it is that the secondary market started going downhill about that time as well. The IPO market dried up. Then once we had Ionia disappear the market died almost totally on that day imo and the forums went down hill even faster. Once FastLearner disappeared as well it only hastened things. Dark Shakiri left way back then too, which was a loss as his posts were quite fun. It just took an influx of new people who didn't care for the community that was built to finally end things for the rest of the old timers.
The forums going to crap are only part of the reason I don't post as much. I've just grown tired with the game. CCP has other priorities than the market clearly... but the game has been static for far too long. The addition of a few new items doesn't make it much more interesting.
All forums and communities eventually crumble with enough time, shame this one had to be hastened by CCP. Perhaps the new guys will eventually decide to try to build something for themselves and restart the IPO markets and such again. *shrug*
It's for them now, time for us old timers to wither away. I don't wanna follow Taikun's example and turn into the worthless old poster who doesn't know when to go away.

More assumptions. The game isnt played on the forums FYI.
This place is essentialy CAOD for the market.

This is where perception comes into play. My most fond memory of DS was reading his posts defending an eventual scam(read EIB) along with many of the other "old timers" that were so great, and then him leaving in disgrace when the house of cards fell. He didnt actualy defend it IMO he just shouted louder then everyone else.
MD is a locker room, always has been and always will be. The alpha males (AKA market elites) spread their knowledge and opinion as if it is the only one that matters. It is classic warfare(conlict) tactics. Control the method of communication and your goals are a lot easier to obtain.

Those statements show precisely why you aren't considered one of the "elite". You see this as just a regular forum not the virtual sandbox within Eve that it once was.
If you were aligned with these forums in the old days you would understand that this forum was almost an own game in itself. Prior to the past few months this forum has never been "CAOD for the market".
You will never get to see that side of the game.

Been cynical in MD for a year now, just like Shadarle says the forums started to decline a bit back then, for all the reasons he listed in his above post.
With the changes that seem to have become even more fast and furious since MD moved to the top, and maybe compounded by the duplicating idiocy that we saw here in MD with the ramifications of this recent exploit, it is time for me to leave this place. The community that I knew and loved in what MD used to be, is dead. What it has become is not something I could participate in with any civility or tact. Better for me to bow out now, and stop conducting business here, before a moderator does it for me. -- Chribba's LoveQuest 17:00hrs Dec. 20th (Prizes!!)

I appreciate what you have attempted to do yourself personaly with the "secondary Market". I really do. I however have looked at the facts of the secondary market and they arent pretty. A battle field marked with scams, deciet, false endorsements and conflict with a few bright spots to liven up the mood. This isnt anyones fault that has participated in the secondary market besides the scammers, and CCP.
So I applaud your efforts. However, just because I do not post here as much as you in the MD forums does not mean that I havent been successful in Eve and helped forge concepts and ideas into a reality. It also does not mean that I have not helped countless newbies along the way.
So in that sense, yes this place certainly is CAOD as you have let it's contents shape your definition of contributions to the market and Eve as a whole. So again I state, "if it isnt on MD it didnt happen" am I right?
