Edison Frisk Minmatar Sebiestor tribe	Posted - 2008.12.19 00:48:00 - [1] Hi, I have recently installed a 9800gt and cant change the resolution in windowed mode to anything other than my optimum resolution for my monitor which is 1440x900. I want to be able to reduce it like before to 1200x800 or something thereabouts. I click on the advanced driver settings and can change the resolution to others but only on full screen, and the windowed mode still only gives me the single option 1440x900. I have the latest nvidia gfx drivers (180.48) installed and playing the classic version of the game (I will probably give the premium version a whirl now but only have a dual core old school socket 939 4800+ so quite content with classic until I upgrade after christmas). Any help would be greatly appreciated. Ta, Ed
Zaisen Abarai	Posted - 2008.12.19 01:22:00 - [2] Try this. Force a resolution by first creating a custom through the driver (I use the 180.84 BETA). NVIDIA Control Panel > Display > Manage custom resolutions > Create When the custom res is in place, switch you desktop res to it & the launch EVE. There should now be an option with your custom res. Select it. You can later switch back your previous res (but you have to start your EVE client with the custom as the active desktop res before that).

Oh well, going to whazz in premium version and see what happens there, I suppose it may be an idea to reinstall the client anyways as I have switched from ati to nvidia. I will let you know :)
Edison Frisk Minmatar Sebiestor tribe	Posted - 2008.12.20 11:56:00 - [5] so heres the latest :) I am currently applying the patch to the premium edition but I notice I can now change the resolution to something smaller than 1440x900 on my 19 inch widescreen monitor. The thing is I cant set it to a widescreen resolution to make better use of my desktop space, but can only do the generic square monitor resolutions. I also notice on my fathers computer this is the same and he has a 22inch (8800gtx) and cant change the windowed mode to anything other than sqaure monitor resolutions. Wierd :)

Hippy Killers	Posted - 2008.12.27 18:54:00 - [8] Same problem here. I just switched to a 19 widescreen w/ optimum resolution of 1440x900. My graphics card is a ati radeon hd 2400 xt. I can now only play in 1440x900 and only in full screen mode. If I use windowed mode, the mouse doesn't line up with what you see, so you can't click on any buttons. I would like to play at a lesser resolution, the type is just too small at this res. I would prefer something along the lines of 1200x800 or similar. Does anyone know how to make this work, especially for windowed mode?

Xorphix Sinister Intent	Posted - 2009.01.24 00:29:00 - [10] Almost same problem here:, used to work on ATI but bought a new Nvidia card (horray CCP for Premium 'lite' and Linux support on ATI!) Nvidia 9800 + Samsung Syncmaster 226bw, i can only use 1680x1050 even in windowed. It helped a bit to change the frequency of screen using nvidia driver, from 59 hz (odd frequency tho) to 60hz, then i get to pick more resolutions, but closest to 1280x720 is the 1280x960, cant pick the one i used to.. I need that for fraps Any help would be appreciated.
Xorphix Sinister Intent	Posted - 2009.01.24 11:47:00 - [11] I think i fixed my 1280x720, odd problem tho: 1) Add a custom resolution in Nvidia driver as described above (it will not show up in Eve but only in windows) 2) Change your desktop size to 1280x720 (it looks terrible but live with it for now) 3) Start Eve, set it as windows, 1280x720 (it should show there) and everything else you want to have. 4) Close Eve, revert your desktop size to whatever you prefer, I'm a 1680x1050 guy :) 5) Start Eve again, when you go settings, you CANT pick 1280x720 anymore, but it remains in the last used size which should be the 1280x720, i checked mine with jRuler (its a ruler on the screen) and its the correct size. 6) Don't ever touch your resolution again Worked for me
Ex0101 Omega Fleet Enterprises Executive Outcomes	Posted - 2009.01.24 14:45:00 - [12] Edited by: Ex0101 on 24/01/2009 14:49:26 Just got this same problem after a format and reinstall. 22in Widescreen monitor, all resolutions available when using full screen mode, soon as i switch to windowed mode only 1680x1050 available, and the funny thing is, if i apply it the window isnt even 1680 x1050 in size EDIT : After rereading the above posts, i changed my hz back to 60, id changed it to 59 yesterday, and all my resolutions are now available again....if i change it back to 59 they dissapear. Certainly seems to be some issue with refresh rate settings in windows in my case.

Setting the refresh to 60Hz, makes it all work for me. (Nvidia 9800GT, 1680x1050 Samsung display) I can now go multi client again
