Have you tried another graphic driver or reinstalling EVE? The graphic error looks really creative btw. :D

I have the exact same issue. I had it when with the 8800 GT Nvidia card, which i swapped out thinking it was the card with the 8500 GT only to still have the same issue.

I have the exact same issue running classic client (more predominant with 2-3 clients open) but happens none the less with 1 client as well, with a fresh install of EVE.
AMD Pheonom 9950 Black Edition Dual 9800GT Vid cards in SLI 4gb DDR2 Ram Asus Crosshair II Formula mobo. Windows XP Pro 32bit SP2 and the 180.xx drivers.

Same for me. I decided to start looking for an answer. I hadn't played Eve for about a week. I bought GTA IV and got it installed. It crashed my computer every 30 minutes so I stopped playing it. When I logged into eve and tried to play that I downloaded the latest patch for it and went to playing again. About an hour into play the graphics went haywire like your pictures. I could still hear "I saw your ship!" playing in the background along with the noise of the base. At this point nothing to do but restart. From then on Eve has ran anywhere from 5 minutes up to 2 days until it does the same thing. When I start the game if I monitor the taskmanager it will start at around 200,000 kb and continuously grow at about 24kb/s until I log in. Then it will drop down to about 29,000 kb and grow at about 4 kb/s until it reaches somewhere around 70,000 and it will either "deflate" back to around the 30 k mark and the graphics will make themselves jacked up like the pictures, or it just crashes. If I use VNC which I do quite frequently at work, it is a garaunteed crash of either Eve or my system within 5 minutes. I've updated my graphics drivers to the 180.84 version with no change in the crash frequency. I'm running XP sp 3 with a 9800 GT in it. Hope they figure out where this leak is coming from and get her patched soon.

I get it as well (classic client). One thing that seemed to minimize it was changing the color depth from 24bit with 8 bit alpha to just 24bit on the Display & Graphics tab.
When it does go haywire, I sometimes fixed it by going into the Display & Graphics tab, change it to 15-bit color depth, then Apply, Close window. Then go back in and set it back to 24-bit, Apply, Close window. Seems to work a lot of the time.

A techie friend of mine suggested to try going back a few driver sets, and see if / when the issue may clear up. Unfortunatly my 9800GT's are only supported by 2 sets, and both appear to be having this bug. If anyone with an older card can go back by more Vid card drivers and see if it eventualy clears up that'd be awsome.

Edit Checking with others in game that have this issue one of the common themes I have noticed is that almost all are running nvidia card and only had this issue since the last patch
posting to agree with my BoB overlord.
9800GTX+ has same problems, both with the stable 178.x drivers and glitchy 180.x drivers. edit: on both premium and classic clients. Sig removed, inappropriate content. If you would like further details please mail [email protected] - Mitnal |

Edited by: Dave Raider on 26/12/2008 17:55:57 Ive also had those problems with Eve, or BSOD's, when using one client or more, im using Geforce 8800GTS 320MB graphics cards, with the client set to 32mb cache or 0mb.
I can not get 2 clients to run for more than 5 minutes, before eve crashes my computer.
There seems to be problems with Geforce 8 cards & eve, non of my corp is having problems, but none of them are using geforce 8 cards.
I hope eve gets this problem fixed.

Everyone should submit bug reports about the issue. Just posting here about it isn't really going to get the job done.

I have had this same issue, although my screen looks a little different, it has odd colors and theres lines going through it, unplayable though. This issue didnt start until they released the premium content client, i dont know what they changed but they did something.
I dont even use the premium content, i use classic but it did something. Ive tried updating the drivers, lowering settings in game to min, nothing helps and it starts as soon as i start eve or minutes after i log in.
Im running a Radeon 9800 Pro card, so its not only Nvidia thats having a problem.
This card can also at the present play anything else BESIDES eve! go figure.
At any rate, i submitted a report but dont expect to much in return... :(

There is a defect attached to the bug report already; so just submit bug reports if you haven't already.
I was able to return my video card with a gift receipt (awesome), and picked up a 260 and no problems. Sig removed, inappropriate content. If you would like further details please mail [email protected] - Mitnal |
