Being a new pilot I was given the unsavory duty of performing mineral survey samples for the minmatar republic. Except for an incident involving some cannibals who had cleverly set an ambush for me 60km from the center of an asteroid belt I was doing just fine. Luckily I had heeded a wise pilot's advice and was flying an inexpensive Minmatar shuttle so it had only set me back about an hour's worth of time mining in my trusty probe. I love my Minmatar bretheren but the republic does unfortunately require us to purchase our own vessels even when on offical business.
After about a week and volumes of note taking I was finally heading back, confident that my work would earn me a rank or two when next it came time to hand out assignments. So the first system I found that actually had a place to berth my ship and ease my straining nerves was welcome. I activated warp and leaned back waiting for the formalities of the docking procedure.
As the stretched light of warp speed began to regain focus I saw it. What must have been a dozen if it was one, battleship class vessels outlined with thick red squares. Visions of the training film "Acclimating to your new clone" that I had watched as an up an coming pilot in military school were now racing through my mind. The sight of it all must have acted as a poison to my central nervous system as I couldn't find the focus to do anything but pound uselessly on my console. It didn't help that messages of intiated criminal activities came scrolling across my HUD like the New York stock exchange. I had to focus, try to command my motor control which was at this point completely unresponsive.
That's when I noticed they weren't firing at me but some poor pilot named Carth. I quickly ID'd his ship as a Scorpion which was difficult because highlighting his ship in my HUD also showed about forty to fifty assorted cruise missiles and torpedoes obviously about to impact his hull. I fought the urge to dock as my curiosity took over so I started to veer around the station hoping in vain that the structure would keep me out of harms way if they decided I was next. I had to watch, even if it meant more time in front of those blasted asteroids.
As I rounded the edge of the station Carth's scorpion lost all cohesion and it's once positive pressure equalized to the vacuum surrounding it. I had little time to soak it all up when I noticed the lock back feature of my sensors. Oh no! I thought. If I am locking one of them then they already have me locked! Die Well's ship came up. So useless a feature on a shuttle I thought to myself. What were it's designers thinking? "Oh by the way the person whi about to kill you is...". Well apparently the minmatar made sentry guns guarding the station were taking there own toll on the aggressors as I saw the red ring of Die Wells' damage indicator race around the icon of his ship like a tachometer on a drag car. To my amazement they all began activating warp, dissappearing one by one, likely to the relative safety of a nearby moon.
There were only three ships left now, including a thorax piloted by minsomo of the corp Killer Clowns from Outer Space. I chuckled because I remembered a B movie from the late 20th century of the same name. Well at least he was a fellow fan of really bad, really old movies.
I decided to circle back around the station, confident that the worst was now over, when I noticed it. The only evidence left that Carth had even been there was a solitary cargo container some 21km from me. A feeling, not unlike the butterflies one feels in zero gravity, started growing in the pit of my stomach. Just one of the modules outfitted on that scorpion could probably put me well on my way to owning that stabber I have been pining for. How jealous would friends back at military school be if they saw me return in a new custom cruiser class vessel? That's all it took, I set impulse speed to full and approached the container, leaning forward in the*****pit as if it would make my shuttle go faster.
I jetted a glance to the three remaining pilots, the nearest seemed about 15 to 20km away. Was I going to make it? Were they going to open up on me for having the audacity to cherry pick their spoils? I saw nothing but dollar signs as I envisioned some sort of rare tech II module that would fit comfortably in my limited 10 m3 cargo area. I barely noticed minsomo in the local channel warning me to stay away from the can, swearing that he'd kill me for the affront as the distance shortened between me and it. Alas I arrived at the container while the others were still 10km off. I quickly opened the can to reveal two uninstalled neural implants. My hand shook as I carefully but delibrately transferred them into my own holds.
I got them! I slammed my shuttle forward toward the dock praying that I would arrive safely with my recently liberated cargo. "F'n shuttle" was all I heard as I sailed into the sanctity of the minmatar station.

Wonderful Story glad Corp 1 could help you.
The commanders of Corp 1 got intel on a fleet spread out of STAIN/XTIC pilots moving down towards HED from empire and desided to take them out in 0,4 space, and the fast pilots of Corp 1 took multiple BS down. without any losses.

Nice story dude, made a good read on the forums for a change
Corp 1 won't miss those implants, looks like they were out for the kill more than anything else, which they (as usual) succeeded at

Nice story, I'm a bit confused though...
Originally by: C4w3 The commanders of Corp 1 got intel on a fleet spread out of STAIN/XTIC pilots moving down towards HED from empire and desided to take them out in 0,4 space, and the fast pilots of Corp 1 took multiple BS down. without any losses
...cause the systems from empire to HED are all 0.5 or higher

This was in Assah north of Providence, pretty much a Corp 1 den and frequent entry/exit point for Xetic.
I heard about this yesterday because one of the involved parties (psychopath) accused one of my corp mates of being the "main" of adun wright. We got a good chuckle out of that in chat.
Nice story and nice score adun, good luck to ya'!

Hehe, yeah, Corp1 isn't so bad. They have some bad seeds like every others (or had at least, havn't fought them for ages), but so do we all...
Are they still considered pirates?
Oh, and if I ever were to change allegiance to the "dark side" I guess Corp1 would be my first pick... Or maybe DNA... Hmmm, have to think about that. Oooor maybe not! Beware the Dark Side!

The commanders of Corp 1. was aware of the late transportations of battle ships and gear, From empire and down towards stain/XTIC, And made the swift order to move a smaller force of 10 pilots, toward assah area and KOS all XTIC and STAIN moving thru the are wich resulted i massive losses, over 50 Industrial ships and 20 BS in less then 1 week, (Thanks for the 30 bp0/bpc and massive amounts last night Stain pilot) Now the Dark Lord calls us back home ..... we will leave a small strike force and our sister corp to keep harrasing the STAIN/XTIC forces,

LOL, nice story! ------------------------------------------ When you get close enough to read this line, you are low...
Choose your meaning of low a) passing below the normal level base of measurement b) marking a nadir or bottom <the low point of his career> c) DEAD -- used as a predicate adjective d) socially humble in character or status e) of lesser degree f) of lesser position, rank, or order g) falling short of some standard (mine) h) not advanced in complexity, development, or elaboration |
