Edited by: Awesome Marie on 20/12/2008 23:20:24 Are you talking about low-sec? If so, I say these words and/or clusters of words to you:
Remote Repping battleship gang; '****s n giggles'-cruiser gang; t2 cruiser gang; nano gang; stealth bomber gang; solo missionganking; gang missionganking; solo battleship bumping carebears of their missionstation when they undock; regular cluster**** gatecamp.
Yes. They all (still) work, just do it right. And by right I mean that you should bring at least one falcon (or ****load of BB's) and at least one scout if your ships are not cheap. But it was like that before the nano nerf aswell.

You talking about unbeatable assault ships? If so, try a module called sensor booster, or just don't engage the pirate if you're in an even more puny ship. Smartbombs are also fun against those buggers, and neutralizers, and small drones. Also try an interceptor. If things still just flyes away, try a warp scrambler or a warp disruptor, I've heard they're great for pvp.

Epic tears and ****ty English. A winning combination.
20 bucks says OP is trying to catch AF's in a battleship with no sensor booster.

Edited by: Merin Ryskin on 21/12/2008 05:17:41 Ah, anti-pirate tears are so beautiful....
Here's a hint: if you're having problems catching frigates, try flying a frigate instead of your usual battleships/HACs. It's what the pirates have all learned to do, so why should you be any different? I guess it would kind of ruin your rule of "never engage without a guaranteed win" though...
Oh yeah, try training English past level 0. You might get more sympathy (or at least less laughing) that way. -----------

Edited by: Kessiaan on 21/12/2008 08:07:25 A good interceptor pilot (with an SB + sigamp or two) can catch assault frigs on gates before they have a chance to warp out. (ouch and ouch if you need proof)
Stop crying and adapt already. ... besides, I've said all I'm going to say. You're reading my sig now! Bwa!

In spite his bad wording, the OP is correct.
A properly fit frig will never be caught in a low sec gate camp. Advising to fit sensor boosters, or using a tackle frig is bull**** and borderline trolling. The target will warp off while still within the "decloak delay", or whatever you want to call it (same effect like a ship leaving station being invulnerable), so even 9999999999mm sensor strength will not lock this target.
I disagree with the need to fix this though. Small ships can hardly attack on gates in low sec due to sentrys, so I dont see why they should be easily caught in these places either.

HACs with SBs can do an okay job. They won't nab every frigate that comes through, but they don't have to stick around very long for you to catch them.
Problem is that with small, agile ships, the lag caused by decloaking and the resulting "target is invulnerable" timer pretty much give them all the time in the world to warp off.

You are playing their game, let them play your game. Fly in a cruiser sized ship that they would like to attack, or fly interceptors. There is enough out there that kill AS without to much problem.
Tbh, so many people fly them, I know how to get those ships down. And I am laughing time over time how they break down in my t1 ship.

I agree. Not everybody knows english that well. I am not english, but norwegian, but we have had english in our schools since I was 8 or 9, so I know it pretty well. But the older garde in Norway have not, as is the same in many ohter countries, and someone have not had it all even in our modern days and age. Getting mocked for it is not fun (I shrug it off, but it gets tedious after a while).

This is only true if you're a pirate - FW fleets (or any fleet that only shoots at war targets) don't have to worry about sentry guns, and thus can use interceptors or cheap tackle frigs, which, if fit propery and on a connection that's not laggy, are fast enough to catch small ships on gates. Not always, but often enough. ... besides, I've said all I'm going to say. You're reading my sig now! Bwa!
