What ship is you're main running those 4's in? Or do you mean to say you're alt will be running those misisons solo? Sorry, it's quite late.
Regardless, I'd say fly t1 insureable if you're LowSuck missiioning.

a standard raven works fine normally
or if you have more time for watching local and your on board scanner a apoc is a very good ship that you can setup with a indef tank so you can pay more attention to where the danger can be lurking

Drake. Yes I am serial!
Active tank it similar to a Raven mission tank and get 3 BCS (minimum) in the lows. Load ecm drones and carry fof, fury, precision and standard kinetic missiles. When you get really jiggy with it, the right hardwires and implants make this boat sail through missions and easy to loose and replace.
Never tell people you low sec mission in an active tanked Drake though. They will flame you. So just stack your isk undercover.

Apocalypse with megapulse is a great mission-runner. One benefit is that the ammo is quite small and lasts a long time (forever if you use T1) so you can operate for a while without having to get supplies.
I'm not sure but I think it may be slightly harder to probe down, too, because it doesn't use shield junk that increases sig radius.

It all depends on what the missions are.
Stick to cheapish setups and t1 ships (BC's or BS's).
Do not use ships relying heavily on Drones (Domi, Typhoon). If you need to use drones have them out for as little time as possible.
If you can, Fit some extra ECCM on your ship to make yourself harder to scan down. --

If you can fit a short range ship, see if you can spare a low slot for a warp core stabilizer. Yes, it screws your lock on times, but better to risk it in the hopes that hostile tacklers won't expect a mission runner to think in terms of escape than to simply be crushed haplessly when they eventually find you. In the event of an emergency, my ego may be used as a floatation device.
