We're American born and raised yet my older brother has a curious fetish for the British. He's always got his nose in a history book about the British Empire and any time he refers to our flag he calls it "the rebel flag". After 9/11 when some in his neighborhood put out American flags he brought out the Union Jack. And in the recent election he threatened to write-in the Queen for his vote for the presidency.
He even once stated that our ancestors only fled England after Charles I was beheaded. There's no proof of this, mind you.
Just thought I'd share. Cheers

The obsessions of youth, you didn't tell us how old he was. if he's 13-17 or even 18 i might understand and say its perfectly normal youthful "whackiness", probably a result of a childhood encounter with the material that left a vivid emotional imprint on the boy. He'd become quite the historian someday if he persists.
if he's 20+, welp, boy reads too many conspiracy theories and has some stranger friends, and i'd hope this episode ends well for him, and all of you.

he's a black nobility sympathizer, try namedropping it to him sometime, odds are he might tell you more than you've bargained for.

I dunno about that. I've been living here my whole life and I'm not tired of the country yet - just the whiners who populate it. -

I have a big, burly, truck driver, uncle that is always greasy. Tough solid looking guy and is a mans man for the most part. Except for the fact he collects clown dolls. They are all over the house in every room, even has a room dedicated to them. Its scary and creepy, also weird when coupled with his looks and how he comes off when he talks to you.

I have a cousin who ran away with the circus and came home prego with a carnie-kid. Although I'm told I'll die if I call it that.
