Heya all. Plz Let have this post CLEAN from all smacktalking and flaming. Bring your views and plz be nice, its just a forum :)
Well i like this game. And i love pvp, corp vs. corp and all kinds of battle. And i also understand pks that bringdowns indys and miner ships. Its possible to do, and you can make money on it. Why not? (i would never do it, but that have not to the point here) But i stoped playing for 4-5months ago, after hunted around pirats that runs to a safespot as soon as another bs is comming into system. Or when in war whit some ppl just runs to a safespots and hide when they are outnumberd. (i my self have used this, and feels bad to say it, but have done it. And will not say its wrong to do it at this state. Just damn boring) Well got back to game now again, and sees that well alot of the systems is controlled by pk's.
Well my point of view is -
Make the tracking to safespots easyer. Sure they schould still be there, but easy to track. Well whit right equipment.
What will it do? - (in my point of view:)
Well that will make even more big fights. Some sytems will be cleand out from Pk's and ruled by PvP players and Corpartions. And some will offcurse be ruled by Pk's. Atm the ppl that gains most at the safespots are pk's couse they can camp a gate. And pick their on targets. And run when outnumberd to a safespot. Sure all can do this, but dont gain on it at the same lvl.
Some last points :)
I DONT SAY that Pks are bad pvp players, Most are good at it. But alot also are really bad on it. (how hard is it to pod a indy in a bs).
I think this would made the game alot more highspeed and intresting. Not so fun wating for a player to make a misstake, to be able to get him.
I respect you all out there. (well not smacktalking in local players, plz grow up. As in real-life does how smacktalk most also often get beated very very very hard. You fight for fun, not to be cool. Join a standup comic or something where you can insult ppl)
Well as last, Thx for taking time and hopfully given your point of veiw.
Sure you guys can flame on and stuff like that. But dont think you will grow as a person doing that. And if so. Plz do it to my face in rl

Bring some really fast frigates if you want to find safe spots. But then again you would know that if you read the 27 other posts regarding this exact same subject.
The ONLY thing nerfing safespots is gonna do is force people to log off instead of staying logged in. So in essence you would be forcing an out-of-game tactic to preserve ones ship from an in-game situation.

They are supposed to make safespots easier to find. There will be a new frigate for that. Safespots already aren't too hard to find, they just need to fix the buggy nature of scan by direction.
Another solution is to hone your skills at the lost art of warp scrambling. Don't go to a fight unless you know you can get somebody warp scrambled fast. Of course that may not work on some people. I watched a PA scorp warp away after we had placed 3 warp scramblers on him , but in general warp scramblers get the job done. Interceptors are useful.

I sense a great effort to split the fighters in EVE into two pointless catagories, known as PvPers (lol) and PKers (lollerskates).
Who exactly are these enigmatic PvPers? The mystery men who never shoot down indies, who never hide at safespots, who never gank their enemies with overwhelming odds and usually go around saying "Hello good chap, would you like a cup of tea before we engage in battle?".
And what about the evil PKers? The scum of the universe who go around ganking indies 23/7 and run for the mountains when anything bigger than a frigate crosses their path? Is it true that they never ever fight unless they outnumber their enemy 4 to 1? Rumour says that these slimy little creatures talk smack in local all the time and have 5 different safespots for each system! Such horror!
Who will answer these questions? Who shall help us seperate the PvPers (Who never kill players) from the PKers (who never fight player versus player)? Who shall make a pointless senseless post that is an obvious effort to impose this new class system of PKers and PvPers on the rest of the EVE community?
Mindlless to the rescue!
SURPRISE;
There is no such thing as a PKer in EVE, this in not ultima online. If you mean outlaws, then use that specific term, because when you say PLAYER KILLER, it refers to about 80% of the playerbase. Outlaws on the other side are classifed as people with -5 or lower security. Those are the ones with the "PK" badge on, but that doesnt mean they run around ganking indies and preying on the weak all day. You'd better stop picking up stereotypes from the Help channel.
Second surprise; There is no class called "pvpers" in EVE. There is no noble order of chivalric pilots that dont gank enemy indies when they see them. Its a PvP game, everyone PvPs, combat or not. And when it comes to combat, playing dirty (Oh yes the horror! ganking defenceless indies (who apparently are also subjects of lobotomy judging by their travel routes)!) is the smart thing to do. -

well, viceroy has got a point. if you dont want PvP (in any way shape or form- be that trading wars on the market or ganking indies), then dont play multiplayer games. As in the real world, peopel will always do something someone else hates, its called life, however unfortunate for the losing party.

I would say Viceroy, brilliant way to hijack a thread dear chap. Just blatantly ignore any logics in the thread, make up some sheit and stick to it for that amazing TK-effekt(ThreadKill ).
Yes Mindlles, better tracking would improve corpwars, alliancewars and even bring actual guerilla tactics closer to EVE. That in combination with smarter logoff countermeasures would make people have to fight for real AKA PvP and not PvSa (safespot), PvSm (smacktalk) or PvG (gamemechanics).
The truth is out there people. Leave local alone and let's get it on!

lol vice you got some good points. But alot made no sens to me :)
But still, you all have your own view to this game, as me. And that is really good. But in my point of view a PK- a player that lives on killing other ships, like indys and lesser good players them self. And as said. Alot of pks today are really good in player versus player to. Or big wars, no doubt about it.
But a pvp player dont attack a defensles indy or smaller ships "if they not offcurse are in war whit them".
Well i just think safespots taken away would improve for us all. And specsily for us that want to shoot at echouter, Good that new ships are comming to make it easyer to find :)))
Well cu all out there.

Ps. Have fun to for that sake :)

While i agree tottaly that safespots should be ttrackable quite easily and under 5 minutes time with right equipement i dont also tottaly agree with the dividing of palyers.
While i love 1-1 duels and encounters, if im at war i will do my best to deal max dmg to enemy.IF we can gank 1 bs with 4 bs i will do it and will be glad , tough of course it is isnt as fun as a more balanced battle.
Part of basic war strategie is to assemble more forces in a given point then your enemy and strike.
Stars, stars like dust, all around me.... |

Maybe because the thread should be killed? Safespots, insta-bookmarks, logging off and the other myriad of things people to do to avoid combat is not "ruining" the game nor are these tactics employed soley by one type of player.
The reason miners use safe spots is because they KNOW they are gonna get owned when the equal number of pilots comes to that space to fight. Not really hard math is it? 8 guys armed to the teeth vs 4 miners an indy and even 3 seasoned pros guarding them probably have a snowball's chance in hell of defeating 8 foes.
Or by your logic they should be killed everytime because they can't log, go to a safe spot or do anything else but be forced to die.
Do you even realize how bloody pointless this game would be if no one could avoid combat? Bunch of 24/7 junkies would be all that's left (well that and a bunch of afk miners in >.5)
I am part of a smallish corp. We try to do a little of everything. We have mined, traded, NPC hunted in 0.0. Hell we were one of the first corps to help create the curse alliance. We PvP when we can too. The thing is we can't get 8-12 players together every night to do what we want to do so there is inevitably solo time mixed with group play. I want to be able to save my ship if I am cautious, and NO cautious doesn't simply mean travelling around in great huge blobs. It means using the tools that are in game.
Myself and about 5-10k other players would just cancel there subs if every half-bit newb could just mount a device on their ship that makes safe-spot busting as simple-minded as this thread topic in its 100th iteration.
It is hard to find people in the depths of space and off the beaten track. For christs sake it took thousands of armed soldiers 2 months to find ****** and they had every bit of current tech to locate him that's hundreds of thousaands of man-hours and were talking one friggin' country to search in. Let alone an entire solar system.
I don't know about you but I like the idea that space is vast. People like you and mindless want to make every system the size of a thimble and make the STUPID zerg tactics be teh win!
I warped into a system with double your numbers I get the kill duh, duh, duh you're so f'n uber.
So can we just this subject die? Get smart come up with your own strategy using the game mechanics as opposed to crying that it is just too hard.
