Edited by: Birkinz on 22/12/2008 11:17:57 Hi Guys,
Can anyone tell me if it is possible to transport a rigged BS in a courrier contract and then in a freighter?
I thought it was, but I tried quickly last night and it didn't seem to fit.
Can anyone advise me?

Cheers guys, I was sure I had read posts about people doing it. Maybe it was a dream :/
Oh well. Maybe they will bring out a ship that can do it. I thought it would be the orca but sadly not.

There's a couple ways to move an assembled ship in eve atm. Way one is obviously flying it. The other is moving it inside a ship maintenance bay. Atm only carriers have a sufficiently large bay to move an assembled BS. And they're not really that useful in high sec :P
All the stuff above does not necessarily reflect my corp, my alliance or even me.. Drone guide.. |

Yeah its a Hi Sec thing otherwise I would go carrier. I would really like a ship like the orca that has a ship bay big enough for two BS.
A few module and rig slots and a bigish cargo bay. As I said I thought the Orca was going to be it and it would be if it could carry BS.

The orca can't do it sadly. An oversight in my opinon. The bay is just a bit too small for even 1 BS. Not even sure if it can take combat ships or just mining ships and haulers.
I dont understand why they made the bay so small as it would make the ship useful for lots of non miners if it could carry rigged BS and it would not be infringing on any other ships role.
I really think we need a hi sec ship to move these things. The orca would be perfect for me if the bay was bigger but in the absence of a bigger bay I just cant find a reason to buy one. Shame really.

The only limitation of what can fit in it is size. As long as it's small enough it will go in. I think anything up to battlecruiser size will fit in.
CCP should really look at coming up with another type of freighter that's good at moving ships but can't open the ship maintance bay in space. Would make moving ships in high sec a bit easier.

Like dropping off suicide battleships for -10's to use in suicide attacks in high sec space, thus removing even the last penalty/cost of suicide camps, that of sec loss. As pitiful a penalty as it is, it's the only one remaining.
Hence Ryans "can't open mainenance bay in space" comment.
