So recently I have begun my career as a full fledged pirate  . Could not stand doing anymore missions or mine more ore. So I sold off my battleship, bought some frigs and now live in low sec learning lots of how to PVP and what I can and cant do.
I can find some targets, usually 1 a day over the course of a couple of hours when I get a chance to play, but other than that, not much. I do however see loads of haulers that are leaving stations or traveling through low sec, mainly Bestowers. I really want to nab one of those when they come in through the gate, but the sentry guns are proving to be an issue. Is there a ship that can have a large enough buffer tank to actually take one out, loot, and get away without getting melted by the sentry guns?
I can use caldari and amarr ships up to battleships (tech 1 ships) and almost can use minmatar cruisers. Id like to keep it somewhat cheap since I dont have allot of money to spend. What would you suggest? Im guessing a battlecruiser would be the way to go, thinking a drake, but would like to see what others have to say. Is this something that is even feasible in a sub-battleship hull?

I've made the same jump as you the last few days.
I've had success using a pilgrim with a 1600mm on gates it can get a bit hairy but it's doable against the right targets.
A maller should be ok, and it's cheap something like this should work quite nicely against haulers:

If you have the isk a Prop and Harbinger would also work.
If you need to get out BM the wreck and warp out then warp in on top of it and grab the loot.

Just realise that most of those haulers are (macro) haulers doing courier missions.

Yup, I've killed plenty of indies solo with a cyclone at gates, as well as a few mining barges, cruisers, ect.
