So with all the major changes from the last patch which is a better AF, the Jaguar or Wolf? I am guessing the wolf as you can now web/scram with one module making having only 2 mid slots not so bad?

It really depends, shield tank or armor tank. DPS doesn't seem to be too much better for a Wolf at all, since you can fit Gyros on a Jag.

I feel that the jag can be slightly better fro 1 vs 1 situations rather than the wolf but both can be quite good in those roles, a Wolf with one gyro and two dmg rigs can be quite devastating esp. with heat. it will get a good amount of EHP and a dps of around 200.

The Jaguar is a heavy tackler: very fast, very strong shield buffer, reasonable DPS. The Wolf is more of a DPS ship: more weapons, more lows for damage mods, fewer mids for tackling.
Both have their role, and both fill them very well. -------------------- "I am hard pressed on my right; my centre is giving way; situation excellent; I am attacking." - Ferdinand Foch at the Battle of the Marne |

Edited by: RedSplat on 22/12/2008 17:32:46 Depends on the situation. Sorry.
Full gank Wolf setup 200~ dps with crappy skills but your tank wont be too good.
Gank Jag setup less dps but better tank.
Full tank big ship tackle Jag fits a lovely tank and carries about 100 dps.
I prefer the Jag, its more survivable with MSE + a speed mods and Gyro in an AB fit than the Wolf is vs' most targets.
If you are part of a large camp go with a sensor boosted arty wolf and terrorize frigates and pods/soft targets.
Also, MWD speedfit jag with an MSE can do a better job as an interceptor than some of the true interceptors
EDIT: Aforementioned Arty Jag is an excellent killmail *****

I have been playing with EFT and the Wolf looks nice as a tackler. I have a lot more DPS and with the Scrambler I can both web and point at the same time. I then use some of the lows for armor tanking and an AB to orbit very close with a low sig radius.
This is all hypothetical as I have yet to try this out, so please show me the error of my ways.

Jaguar is the better ship overall. Less DPS than the wolf, but a better tank, better speed, and the ability to fit a web make the Jag more versatile and more survivable in virtually any situation these two ships might find themselves in. The Wolf is great as specialized DPS support in a frig gang. The Jag does it all. Also in a 1v1 of Jag v. Wolf, the Jag will completely dominate. --------

Yes. Very little sense to put an AB on a Jag, since it uses ACs and a passive shield tank.

I fly my Jag exclusively with an AB. Seems to work for me. --------

Jag you can probably go either way. with an AB and a speed mod it's actually decently fast compared to cruisers, unlike all the other AFs. AB lets you use 200mms with a MSE, MWD forces you to drop down to 150mm or 125mm depending on skills.
Edit: worth pointing out that with the AB overloaded, the Jag goes slower than, say, the Zealot with a non-overloaded MWD, though. fly at your own risk __________________________________
