First things first i will state that i have used the search button and I have tried doing my own research.
Basically, I have been away for awhile and just come back again. Heard about the speed nerf etc. etc. Tried to research it on my own but only came up with old threads when CCP where considering implimenting it, and hadnt done so yet. I take it that it did all go ahead. Did they take on board any of the comments mentioned in the feedback threads? Is the nerf as bad as they say? and Last but not least, is my vaga now useless *sniff*.
Cheers.

I still see plenty of people using vagas. However, I believe it's usually in gangs. Not sure how effective they are as a solo ship now.
Basically everyone's top speed got reduced, and they also reduced webifiers. So vagas are still faster then most other non-frigate ships, it's just their overall top speed has been reduced. ----------------------------------------------------

Yeah i read those, i was just wondering how it has actually effected gameplay, as badly as what was expected, or not to bad?

Not so bad. You see a greater variety of ships now in PvP, including a lot of the ship types that people also said were nerfed into brokenness (blaster & missile ships.) The most serious PvP change IMO is the ability of scrammers (but not disruptors) to disable MWD's. So if you get too close with a MWD and get scrammed it's like being hit by a scram + strong web all at once in terms of how it affects your top speed.

I like it personally. Always used a T2 fit and those are now better, since the expensive stuff got the nerf bat. Also have seen some new and interesting fits and more variation in ships. Not always succesful fits, but I have enjoyed the change. Blaster and missile whines have been plentiful, but I don't have much personal experience with either in PvP, so I can't comment on them.

Welcome back :)
In addition to the patch notes, you might want to check out our Information Portal. There are quite a number of threads there about changes that we've made to the game.
We also had quite a flurry of Dev blogs during the period leading up to the release of Quantum Rise. Here are some ones that might really interest you:
- Rollin' Rollin' Rollin' - Alchemy - Orca - Weapon Grouping - Certificates
If you're technically minded, check out the EVE64 and StacklessIO blogs.
