Hey does anyone know how if there is a way to exploit the aggression counter?
I undocked with no aggression counter ( ended 20 mins ago ) and the person somehow was still able to attack me with no kill rights and no counter. Once he attacked me I saw a new 15 min count down pop up but how could he do this? Any ideas?
Was in a mission had a few wrecks left and some containers.

Likely he popped the wrecks and cans that still had you as the marked owner, which extends the timer, but doesnt show it on your end or his.

negative on low sec - 0.9 system.
Ah so if someone attacks your wrecks it extends the time but doesnt show up on the counter? So pretty much he was exploiting the game then?

Try and petition that, trust me, you wont get the answer you're looking for.
And yes, I've petitioned it in myself, so I know what I'm talking about. -

Is that an exploit or just smart use of game mechanics?

It was announced awhile ago, that attacking wrecks/cans to "reset" the timer, is an exploit. -----------------------------------

Anything that enables the killing of carebears in highsec is not an exploit. It is a needed feature in the game, and that man must be given a medal.

shooting wrecks in hi sec gets you concorded correct? more likely he docked with aggro and it reset to 15 mins. hidden timer.

The answer is yes.
Though the proper term is feature when players exploit a smart use of came mechanics.

Not when he shoots the can when he still has some time left of his initial 15 mins of aggro. When he shoots the can, the aggro timer is reset, except it doesn't show like that for the owner of the can who thinks he can safely undock after 20 mins or so.

I thought it was an exploit when the owner of the cans has logged off while you keep him in space by shooting the cans every 5 mins (so resetting his 15 min aggro).
Not sure if it's an exploit when this is done with the owner of the can in station. He still has a way to avoid combat which is not the case of the persno that is logged off.

Just lost a 1/2 bill ship in Dodixie to a safe space pirate corp using this exploit. I was in the station over 20 min I had no aggro counter. I warped to first gate still no aggro counter. I used first gate to warp into mission complex. Suddenly I had a 12 min counter and was ganked by six pirates. I pettitiend CCP and was told by GM LELOUCH to "move my mouse over the aggro counter". I guess I was supossed to move my mouse over a nonexistent agroo counter. So I guess ccp is going to allow this exploit afterall.

If there is dirty pool here to keep a counter running that should be classified as an exploit, just on general principle.
However, I suppose it's worth asking if there is any chance someone in the aggressors camp had kill rights rather than just an aggression timer?
Last I checked (I may be out of date) that would give them carte blanche to engage you? ~ Why is it those with the greatest responsibility to make good decisions so often seem the least capable or inclined?

ccp probably have no clue what you are even talking about and until a dev gets pwnt by it, forget it.
stop getting yourself into a position where you can be exploited by the EVE client (aka invisible timers)
probably nothing in the can worth losing a ship for. I can't remember the last time i looted a mission i ran myself To make a mistake is Human. To make a REALLY BIG mistake, takes a computer |

Question. Why did you give them aggro rights to begin with by shooting them? If someone is in your mission looting your wrecks then do one of two things. Ignore them and continue your mission or shoot the wrecks and deny them a reason to stick around hoping you will be a nub and shoot them. If you do the last enough times they will simply bypass you in the future for dumber prey.
