Its called capitalism.
Let me explain how it works since you seem uninformed.
The price of a product goes up and down based upon demand.
The person selling the item wants to get the most money possible. but someone else with the same product may be willing to sell it for less and then the high priced product doesnt get sold until the price lowers.
Just make sure that if you are waiting for the lower priced product...that you jump on it. More than likely someone else is waiting along with you and may beat you to it. Or you could not want to wait for the low priced product and just buy whats available. Or you could call the office of President Elect Barack and tell him to come save you. Im sure he'll send you a check right away as Im sure that based on your attitude, you voted for him.

All i know is 3 months ago it cost me $35 dollars for a gtc in my country and now because of the exchange rates and economy it costs me $50.
So if i was to buy and sell one i would have to increase simply because i paid more for it.
Because i can. |

Stop spamming this! Check Plex'es ingame and you'll see that the GTC's here on the forum are underpriced.

It's actually called the free market, but feel free to continue embarassing yourself.

Got to some of the older posts. Just a few months ago GTC where in the 350mil range for 60 days. I have had to depend on GTC's to play the game. I do have to warn you that the moderator will close this topic since they don't like people commenting on GCT prices in this forum. I posted a protest post to mock the price of GTC's before. it wasn't well accepted.

Setana, I stand corrected thank you. Here is Websters definition and is what I really meant cap+i+tal+ism Pronunciation: \ˈka-pə-tə-ˌliz-əm, ˈkap-tə-, British also kə-ˈpi-tə-\ Function: noun Date: 1877 : an economic system characterized by private or corporate ownership of capital goods, by investments that are determined by private decision, and by prices, production, and the distribution of goods that are determined mainly by competition in a free market
Im so embarrassed

Remember that in a free market the consumers have a right to protest and boycott products and corporations. WeÆre just participating in the free market process.

I don't believe it has a lot to do with the economy in general, its the problem with supply on the GTC market. With the removal of the Competitors ie 30 and 90 day GTC's, the price has gone up quite a bit more than expected. I had figured the competition from plex might lower the price, but instead they rose to meet the inflated prices of 60 day GTC's.

GTC's are not overpriced. As stated above by Antallis I am also paying a hell of a lot more for GTC's. In return we have to pass on the cost or it simply isnt worth us selling them. The way I see it...if you dont like it dont buy it. We as sellers have 2 choices.. 1. Pass on the cost 2. Stop selling them.
If we stop selling them guess whats going to happen....? Costs will jump even further
So if you dont like it then go play something else.

honestly, i am tired of all that 'supply and demand' talk. while true to some extend, its also worth what people are getting used paying for it. thus, if players get used to higher rates, they tend to stay that way, supply and demand adjustments do then happen from that elevated price base.
put in another way, if potential buyers think the rate is reasonable, because prices have established themselves at a level, they will cause increase in demand, supporting the high prices or even increasing them. sellers will hardly think about a 'reasonable' price, they will happily sell at exorbitant prices. does anyone think at this time any seller will hold back a gtc, because he considers current prices low? didn't think so.
