I have finally decided to become a pirate. Though i cant afford to lose many ships cause im low on money. i havent successfully ransomed yet cause i dont want to take my best ship yet till i can afford another. I need a corporation that is devoted to pvp such as piracy and bounty hunting.I will listen to whatever is needed to be doing. I will try the best i can to accomplish any contract given. I have yet to take my ships out of a 1.0 so i will need time to get ready. I know this will be a setback but im 12 but not whiney unlike the others. I have been playing for 6 days at most so thats another setback. My main is a caldari using a cruiser/caracal fitted with 5 launchers a webber, booster, and jammer. I will be upgrading my electronics for cloaking over christmas. I wont be on for awhile during the 26th. Feel free to message me about an invitation for i will be on during said date. Merry christmas to all

Edited by: Dirk Magnum on 23/12/2008 05:22:47 Congrats on the initiative. Someone might be looking for a character as young as yours but honestly I'd recommend you go and see more of what Eve has to offer first. After that try can flipping or attacking some even newer player in Low Sec with a ship you can afford to lose (a Rifter, Punisher, Kestrel, Tristan, or Incursus can all fit this bill, hopefully) and see how you like blowing up someone's hard-won ISK. Better to do that than to make any promises to an established pirate corp and then find out that you aren't equipped for the tasks at hand.
Then, once you've figured out the mechanics of this game a bit more make your decision on whether or not to go pirate.

Well.. you're going to have to learn to risk your best ships, I think I've lost about 300+mil in ships in the past week alone. There are a lot of pirate corps out there and a lot of people willing to teach new players the Ropes.
Good luck with whatever corp you end up joining, it's not too hard to do it on your own, but a big requirement a lot of corps I know make is that you can be self sufficient and replace your own ships without too much trouble.
Hope you enjoy being a pirate, it's the only thing I like to do in EVE ------------

This is the forum you want to post in when you are ready to join a corp.
You've been playing for 6 days and fly a cruiser, I will echo the above comments and say you are nowhere near ready for pvp or combat (at least in a cruiser). Ratting/missioning for a few days to get a small bankroll while you train some support skills and at least tech 2 small missiles/guns is preferable.
After you do that I suggest joining EVE-University or caldari factional warfare and just go out and hop around in low sec in a frigate. Biggest mistake that new players make is flying large ships that they haven't skilled properly for. I know you get sick of flying in a frigate when you can fly a cruiser, but don't do it, you will just die horribly. --

Edited by: Angela Moore on 23/12/2008 05:41:18 dang it i just typed a long paragraph and it wouldnt post :P. yeah i am going to find out the mechanics some more. Also thanks for the replys cause i expected different answers about my age . I guess this community is better. I just need a corp so i can be apart of something i like instead of excorting my mining ops right in the corp im in. Also i need one cause theres a less risk when together. Ill be on the erge to thinking about it. I still will accept applications.
seeya guys happy new years
edit: also thank u above poster. yeah i think i should stay on longer before i do. Thank you for your help, ill be gone for awhile and maybe get cloaking and tech 2 down

This is true of most PvP corps, and you will lose ships - sometimes because you do stupid things, sometimes because you get ****d. For instance, I lost an interceptor to a maller the other day Meanwhile, on the other side of town . . . |

I DC'd in highsec and lost a Vaga to faction police the other day. Picked a fight with a Rapier and lost a Huginn when his Ishtar buddy showed up. And last but not least, had a freighter in half armor all by my lonesome and lost my Broadsword to a Thanny and an Arazu
This week has sucked horribly. ------------

you seem to have the right spirit and head on to pull this off.
the Black rabbits are currently closed for recruitment, but I woudl see it as an interesting project, to train up such a young player to the pirate life.
tell you what, join the IG channel Guristas Recruitment or the channel The Black Rabbits and have a chat with some of the guys there, they will prolly be able to give you a bit more insight to what is needed for piracy.

Edited by: Dirk Magnum on 23/12/2008 16:01:52 Oh yes, one more thing OP. Even if you find a corp willing to take you in and train you by bringing you on ops, there's a major potential complication that could arise if you decide the pirate life isn't for you. That complication being a -10 status with a young character. It will take you AGES to rat that back up to -4.9 (minimum for 0.5 space), let alone -2.0 (minimum for all-access Empire flight) if you can't even kill a low sec battlecruiser with your newb skills.
When people decide to leave the pirate life behind they tend to make a pilgrimage to nullsec where they engage battleship after battleship in order to reclaim their sec status, and if you're too young you'll be unable to do this, leading to despair and eventually to suicide. DON'T TAKE THIS LIGHTLY THE EXACT SAME THING HAPPENED TO ME. TWICE. I AM A GHOST No but seriously until you can handle a nullsec battleship NPC (a tier 3 cruiser or any battlecruiser with decent skills should be enough to do thus) I wouldn't start shedding that security status.

One thing I've noticed with the pirate corp I run with is a lot of players stick with small inexpensive ships for a long time. As an example, I have over 8 mil SP, I an fit T2 weapons and most mods on minmatar cruisers and battlecruisers, and yet, I mostly fly rifters when I am pirating. To be honest, I think small ship pirate gangs are a blast!

Edited by: xxFatalDeathxx on 23/12/2008 20:52:20 Thank you guys and yes ill be buying a battlecruiser soon. Actually im really close to getting one, i just dont have the money. I wanted to join pirating cause its a thrill, good cash(if your lucky), and territory. Also from the annoyance of other players that are not pirates. they will start a corporation war, which is also great if we have the ships and numbers. Yes, i will join the black rabbits channel to check it out. Cheers guys, happy holidays

yes i will stay as a pirate. I have told myself that there is no turning back mostly from a -10 sec. Yeah the life of a pirate seems real interesting and this seems like a good time to choose when and where to start

Recovering from going to -10.0 security status is the closest experience to grinding that I've found in EVE.
That being said it can be done in maybe 24 hours of 0.0 play as long as you can kill rat BSes.
Given the mercenary nature of the EVE universe, I'm not sure why you can't buy security status either with ISK or relevant LP's.

Edited by: Raul Watanabe on 24/12/2008 06:50:17 Kill a single cruiser or battlecruiser rat in each system you pass through and you should find it easy to keep your security status in check, i like to keep mine just below -5 and find it easy to stop it from dropping without much effort at all
Train for assualt frigates first, they are the best small gang and solo ships for pirates at the moment who like to be able to pick and choose their fights, plus a good AF can kill BS's in null sec very easily by out tracking them even if there are multiple ships.

Yeah, that seems like a pretty good idea, also change of plans i wont be gone saturday hopefully. Yeah i got money now thanks to a passing byer. also thanks for the help if u happen to search over the post again. Yeah i was beginning to wonder what ships i will be needing. My plans are to stay with frigate for the time being and level up my skills. I havent learned proper fitting yet so it will be hard not going money crazy. Still ill try my best. I havent found anyone willing to teach me the advanced part of the game such as, fittings, proper investment of skills, and what and what not to buy. I thought i could go straight towards a titan, i was wrong, itll take years :) . Plus i was hoping for a straight bs. Though im close to being able to get one, i wont have the proper turret, hardpoints, or electronic skills needed for the ship to be effective. So ill agree with the above post about going assault. though it will take a week or so to lvl it up, i can still learn more about the game along the way, also take out some rats for money. Though it will be a long time till i figure out the game(im an ex wow player and my friend is ****ed at me for quitting). This is all really new to me and im really thinking ahead of myself when im only played a week.So I will need time to learn the ups and downs, left and rights.Yeah assault ship plus cloaking which ill have in about 2 weeks together with the t2 frigate.Well im off for right now getting kinda late here. Thank you guys for the recent help, you have my gratitude
