seen a quake large bpo for 12 bill.
Is the general idea to run 1 assembly line constantly with the bpo, or to make copies and run several lines simultaneously? |

i remember the ccp statguy saying on twitter that T2 BPOs dont get copied much, so its more likely that people will keep 1 line as close to 100% uptime as possible ... |

IIRC, copy time from T2 BPOs = production time of T2 BPO
so no real point in copying them. |

1) look at the info 2) copy times on T2 bpo's are always longer than build times 3) look at the market and see how many sell etc. YMMV http://eveboard.com/ub/419190933-134.png

I don't know any, but they all follow a general rule: they have a ridiculously long ROI, three to eight years for most. They is so many ways to get more profit from the isks necessary to get one. For example, making copies of some cap ship T1 BPOs. |

3 year to 8 year ROI?
Let's see. I did the math on a Sleipnir and started a post last night in GD. A single Sleipnir BPO at ME 9, PE 19 generates a profit of 677 million/month at current prices (costs of mats = Jita low sell). 677 * 12 = 8.124 billion ISK out of one mfg slot, which also requires ZERO copying and ZERO invention slots on a char or in a physical array.
If I could get my hands on one of those for 24 to 64 billion I would be thrilled. Sadly, they are in effect priceless, because no one sane would ever sell them.
There is a reason that whenever someone starts a "ban T2 BPO" thread there is a massive campaign started up opposing such a thing. The people that own them are ever vigilant about anyone touching the golden goose.

ROI is instant if you got given it by CCP. Never forget that people got gifted them for nothing and others ''won'' them in a ''lottery''. |

The last Sleipnir BPO publicly sold went for 195 billion. 3-8 year ROI is more like a guideline than an actual rule. If you're wholly ignorant of a blueprint's value, you can use it to get a ballpark... sometimes. Other times, it's extremely off.
So, priceless? No. Expensive? Yes.

The real problem, here, is that some industrialists are so bad that 677 million a month sounds like a "golden egg". If you really believe they are a "golden egg", why have you not bought one? There are almost always a handful up on contracts. |

Recovering principal on a T2 bpo is 1 sell orders forum auction which might take a week.
The time spent manufacturing with them is profit, you just don't realise it as profit till you sell the BPO. Therefore BPOs get sold. Interestingly, the owner of 1 sleipner BPO was around reasonably recently offering it on sell orders. I'd probably think more about 230bil than 64bil... |

They aren't currently, but they used to be before invention. T2 stuff was way, way more expensive than it is now relative to other stuff. Originally it might as well have just been a high slot item that deposits a billion ISK in your wallet every cycle called "ISK Printing Press II" or something. I'm guessing the reputation never went away after the ridiculously insane prices did. Kind of like how players in Planetside still hate BFR's even though they went from OP to useless ages ago. |
