EMP for autocannons.
PP, TS, DU, or Proton depending on what I'm doing for most Arties.
Balanced damage ammos are best for big fights where ships will be going down quickly and you won't have time to change ammos, while the ability to reaload with something more specific will be really helpfull in a small engagment.
For Frigates, its especially important to have a variety of ammos if you're going to be attacking battleships and cruisers. Swapping out depending on tanking can at least save you time and could save you butt.

Also if you always, or mostly, hunt npc in teh same regions..check out eve-db.com and look up the npc you hunt. Pick ammo that they have the least resistance against, helps a bunch ;) ___________________________ Chicks dig Brutor's |

no offense, but I've heard a slight confusion on ammo sizes lately in help for some reason...
which SIZE, Small/Medium/Large, depends on the size of the gun. you can't use large ammo in a small sized gun.
heard at least once or twice someone seem to think that you could pick what size you put into the gun, as well as what variety.
and another side note, on guns when they are mounted in the ship, and loaded with ammo, if you right click on them and show info, the information they give will be the fully adjusted range and such. including all modifications from skills, passive modules, and ammo.
