christmas has been ****ed up badly.
also, holidays of lies, it never had ANYTHING to do with the birth of jesus.
Dont get me wrong, holiday are a great thing. but how about we pull the sticks out of our asses and stop to bull****ting each other?

And staying in bed - that's exactly the problem. Because that tends to get granny sad, and we dont want sad grannies, now, do we?

I don't think you get it. I don't care about the true history/meaning of christmas. Not many people do.

Yesterday as I was cruising through the city I saw an advertisement of some catholic organisation asking for donations.
Roughly translated it was
"Because it's Jesus' birthday"
Now that isnt a problem if it comes from some uneducated or ignorant sheeple, but it bothers me when it comes from a catholic organization - their roots started that holiday in EXACT that timeframe to get some cheap excuse for bloodshed.
Also, don't get me started on santa claus.
And yes, you have to talk about all that crap if you ever want to make it better.
As I said, nothing wrong with holidays, but why exactly do we need to bull**** ourselves to pull it off?

I might be going out on a limb here, but the average pagan back then probably was more in touch with the universe than those feisty bishops and popes.
edit: if you want, you could say, it never was more than a poor PR stunt.

Really? I thought it was the ****ing "last christmas" tune I have to listen to in every friggin shop I dare to enter, STARTING IN OCTOBER.
I remember, about ten or twenty years ago, shopkeepers that started that **** in the middle of november would be called greedy *****es.
now youre running late if you start your decoration in november

they also used that trick to make their tools work. I still use that trick for some things today, a friend of mine even -I **** you not- built a full suspension bike using an old ski and the wet leather trick.
