English translation below the triple dash.
Telst EVE-Online sem erlent download e=a fµr ma=ur ¦etta sem innlent? (¦.e.a.s. spilunin). Lfka, ef Tg ni=urhala EVE.exe installernum telst ¦a= sem innlennt e=a erlent download?? En ef Tg uppfµri leikinn me= patch?

Do I have to pay as if I'm downloading from abroad (I live in Iceland) or do I pay as if I'm downloading local content when I play EVE-Online? How about when I download the EVE.exe installer from the website or if I patch it from game?

Downloading the game is free, and even someone without a subscription can download the client as many times as they like to as many computers as they like. However, as for the subscription price itself, I don't know. As far as I'm aware even Icelandic people pay in Euros and the same as everyone else.

Not helpful. I'm asking whether or not the download comes from Iceland or not. If it comes from Iceland, it's nearly free, if not, it's like 200 euros per gigabyte.

Oh I see. The game servers are located in London, so it seems likely to me that the web servers are there too.

omfg... 200 euros per gigabyte?! That sounds pretty damn outrageous... My ISP allows me 150gb download a month for roughly $30 USD, that kind of restriction is almost inconceivable to me. <-------------------------------------------------> "Only two things are infinite, the universe and human stupidity, and I'm not sure about the former." -Albert Einstein |

Have to say I don't understand this; the internet is worldwide, how would you ever know where content was coming from? This seems the most bizarre ISP service imaginable.

Cause you can find out where the files are (country, county, city, street, etc)?

I agree, this ISP sounds like **** and I would definitely not be playing MMOs over a line like that (as I could never get a straight answer from one of them of how multiplayer packets are counted). Also, making a difference between "local" and "foreign" stuff on the internet is crazy, but not as silly as some seem to think (as it's easy to see where an IP is located, and thus where data is coming from). That said, I don't really see Iceland having that much digital content on their soil, so an ISP making a restriction like that would just be silly.
If you really want to play an MMO over a line like that I'd suggest you find a friendly EVE player willing to burn the client on a disk and mail it do you, and you should definitely have a talk with your ISP to see what sort of charges they place on multiplayer data (as you are in constant contact with a foreign server feeding you the data of other players constantly). -----

What if you'd use a proxy server in Iceland for all your internet needs?
