I was about to get back into doing lvl 4's for caldari state on my "Tool Box" alt, and I noticed that her standing to gallente faction was -4.41 (-2 something with diplo 4). I got kinda worried as I use the character for hauling/inventing/high sec pos (caldari space) etc etc. and I don't wanna lose the ability to enter gallente space.
Can someone tell me:
- 1) Is there a way to get the standing back up quickly, from where it is without losing too much standing with caldari so her corp can keep its high sec pos up/move it if needed. *she has 6.76 or something caldari standing.
- 2) What is the danger zone for negative standing, how much lower can she go before I need to train diplo 5 and or do other emergency activites to raise the galente standing.
- 3) Will running missions on my main (Gallente with massive gallente standing) and then handing them in with that group mission feature with my alt in gang raise her gallente standing?
- 4) What missions should I avoid if I do go back to running lvl 4's with caldari agents, ie faction loss missions/ and or storyline missions that have a major negative impact on gallente standing.
- 5) Will running lvl 4 Amarr missions have any effect (positive/negative) on the gallente standing, and would it be recommended at all to do this instead of running lvl 4 caldari missions?
Thanks in advance for detailed responses from those that reply.

1) No, not quickly. Best way to repair Gallente standing is to run missions for Minmatar if you can still do that. Even then, it won't be quick.
2) There are levels for negative standing, so depending on your current standing you're prohibited from entering systems with certain security level.
3) I think all people in your group who run the mission take the faction hit, but not sure.
4) Avoid missions against Gallente Navy agents (i.e. Enemies Abound)
5) Running Amarr missions will hurt your Gallente standing since Amarr are Caldari allies, just like Gallente are Minmatar allies.

Since faction missions are generally more profitable than non-faction missions you will not be happy with the missions you run and many times you cannot turn down very many faction missions and are forced to do some.
My advice. Pay for standings. Find a data center, turn in Caldari tags / Amarr tags and thereby increase your standing by doing the "Storyline Missions" as often as possible at the data centers.
NOTE: you can only do one of these per day. Once you do this you can gain SOME faction standing back.
Finally, go and take time out of your busy schedule and jump about 20 jumps away into Minmatar space (if you can still do that without being shot at) and run about 100-200 missions for them. With that boost, you shouldnt have too much of a problem with gallente anymore.
Note: You asked about faction lowering. Well, from what ive noticed, you can do many counter-faction missions without lowering anothers standing TOO much. Example: I have 9.5 Caldari standing, but run minnie missions to 1.5 and am still a 9.3 caldari standing.
It is all relative. There are equations for it but i am far too lazy to derive those from my experiences. =----------=

Actually, it's just -5.0 or nothing.
You can still enter 1.0 Gallente systms with a modified standing of -4.99.
It's only sec status that has that limit on certain systems (1.0, 0.9, etc) dependence on your sec status.

No idea who to give credit to:
Inter-faction relationships.
The tables seem very accurate for the four main factions at least. Not as confusing as it may seem: if you look at the second table; a gain of 10 standing to Amarr will gain you 7 with Caldari but lose you five with Minmatar and two with Gallente.
My advice is to never run missions against the four main factions if you want to stay legal in highsec. I decline even faction storylines for this reason. Cruiser kills don't hurt very much, but pop a few battleships and you'll see a big change. You can see a list of the standing changes by double-clicking on the faction name in the standings tab of the character sheet, but then you knew that.
If you're a good mission runner it won't take long to raise your standing with a corp from nothing to being able to run level 4's if you make sure your 15th mission at each level is completed closest to a storyline agent for that same corp. As you know storylines are the only missions that raise faction standing and this is NEVER shared with fleet (I don't think corp standing from storylines is shared either).
If you want a pos in 0.7 sec you'll most likely have to cosy up to that faction's main enemy or their ally along the way to still be able to use their corporations' agents. None of them will speak to you if you're below -2 faction standing.
Anyhows, just grind missions for Gallente or Minmatar if their adjusted standing towards you gets close to -2.

If you want to raise it fast, the best way is running courier missions. In particular, run the 16th mission near a storyline agent in a division that doesn't do many kill missions (e.g., Accounting). It's boring and it doesn't pay well, but you can get two storyline boosts every 2-3 hrs.

Corp gaining from storylines are shared in group missions (I did that a lot of times with my alts).
A good option to rise Gallente/Minmatar standing while in Caldari space is to get the Sister of Eve standing up, so that the character can run mission for the best SOE level 4 agent in high sec, located in Osmon (near Jita).
SOE will rise your Gallente/Minmatar standing without hurting too much your Caldari/Amarr standing and the LP store has some nice stuff.
From my knowledge the Caldari/Amarr group lack an equivalent high sec lesser faction as widespread as SOE. They have the Kanid and Ammatar as minor factions, but to run with them you need to relocate in a specific cluster of systems while SOE agents can be found almost everywhere.
