In the early days of EVE, I mined. From then to now (with copious giant breaks in between subscription periods) I have missioned and traded. Soloing, I find that none of these really make me enough money to be 'happy' with myself. I have not done too many L4 missions, so that is uncharted territory, but still...
So, do people make giant amounts of ISK PVPing? Greater risk = greater reward? Or is it the hallowed corp/alliance that leads to the big bucks?
[This time around I am finally going to get into PVP/corps, regardless of whether any of my WoW-addicted friends are playing.]

Edited by: Ambien Torca on 25/12/2008 01:43:14 Moon mining, industry, plexes. Trading/market manipulation can also be lucrative, it just takes lots of time and capital.
PVP is generally isk sink unless you know what youŠre doing and donŠt looks for fights but kills. Standard T2 loot just gets you free fittings for new ships, you can get rich if someone is silly enough to have some faction goodies in their pvp ship you can grab.

I sold a Cadari Navy Ibis for 10 mil, and a ibis named Cadari Navy Hookbil for 12 mil. Yes I know, it's Caldari Navy Hookbill, but the set name ship option doesn't provide enough spaces to change it to the full name. I love Jita.

Naa 10 mil is nothing. But the fact that people bought those ships off of me for basically 100% profit is what I find funny. I love scamming people even if it's for 100 isk.

See, yes, 100mil/day. And not by scamming. That is what I would like :P Hell I would live with 50mil/day at this point. Been playing this game on and off for too long; one would think I would have found this out by now.

Most people who have played a long time know how to make isk. If a 2005 vet is poor he is poor because he is lazy or stupid. Offcourse maybe he doesnt care but my point is they dont need to be poor.
A small startup capital and make reactions, caps, invention bpc's for mods or ships. Not that hard to make isk and if you can be efficient it wont even be to time consuming. I only started to make isk when i decided to pay for all my accounts by gtc but damn its pretty easy to do so to my own surprise.

You don't necessarily need isk, some of the best pvpers in Eve's history were next to flat broke 24/7.
But yeah though, the people that do have huge amounts of isk got it from scamming, the t2 bpos, whoring the old complexes, or they somehow have a really good moon to mine for themselves.

By definition it is, but that is just people being dumb, not really scamming.
Scamming is when you get 2bil isk out of someone plus a Phoenix and they post a thread on Eve-O crying about it.

No but you might get banned for buying items with real world money.

level 4 missions earned my first 2 Bill isk (not a one days work by any means :P). Now I just have lots of isk that I do not use. I do PvP, but I perfer samll ships for PvP :P. Its just fun to fly frigs/AF's/Intys (I do not like SB's). and I seldom loose ships, so thats a bonus :).

What if you make it faster than you can lose it? Fly bigger ships?

Scamming. I made 1 billion isk in dodixie just from scamming in two days. Much easier than missioning, but dont tell anyone.

What a waste of time. Ok so you scammed somebody for 12m, unless you pulled the entire thing off in under about 30 minutes of your time, you lost isk on that deal.

Edited by: digitalwanderer on 25/12/2008 05:35:07 Takes isk to do it,but invest in capital component BPO's,at least 10 or 11,research theml, then setup a POS to do nothing but BPC copies to sell.
If i doing the calculations by head right, you can crank out 165 copies inside a month, and each can sell from 5 to 20 million each, but average it out at 10 million each overall, and there you have it 1.65 billion a month(almost 20 billion a year),and all you have to do is keep the POS fueled.
Plus you still have more than enough free time to either mission run lvl 4's,or pvp when you feel like it,or even go into officer module trading with the profits that the POS is pulling on it's own....It rains isk in high sec empire if you use your imagination.

Its simple to easly make isk you need to grow up from an empire carebear who doesnt like pvp to a 0.0 ratter who likes pew pew.
To make isk comes with a risk.

Which is a funny thing to say, i haven't died in 1 1/2 years while ratting. (I did die in a ratting ship though)
But the profits of ratting are overshadowed by even greater boredom than lvl4 mission grinding. During wartime, i do that with an alt, and it's painful.
I made most of my money with exploration. Sadly, exploration is horribly overfarmed in many areas and has been hit repeatedly by a stealth nerf. Today, you mostly get tag&ammo from factionspawns. Meh.
Today, apart from ratting, i do some trading to supply 0.0 with fair priced mods. My rhea, funded with exploration, helps a lot.. ----------------------------------------------

Hard work and care with a grain of luck. Patch days are huge isk makers if you have the dedication to take time off to be on EVE during a Tuesday at midnight trough Wednesday evening.
