I'm betting against this, since it would cause hisec to be littered with POSes belonging to non-existent corps. You can't shoot them because CONCORD, you can't wardec them because no corp. If that is actually the case, it wouldn't surprise me considering all the other quirks POSes have. From the game's standpoint, it's still a corp just like any other (unless they did something really crazy with their corp objects for no real reason). It just happens to have the (CLOSED) flag on it because Members == 0 (crap, I tried to put a semi-colon after the 0, too much coding last night, lol).

If you are the owner from the closed corp you might be able to petition the GMs to give it back to you but as I am not a GM I cannot say with any accuracy if that is true or not. You would need to file a petition and ask the GMs that specific question on recovering it in-game if you did it as i do not know the answer to it.
