A lot of times I'll have a modules continue fireing after i've clicked to cancel it, the only way I can fix this is by unlocking the target either manually or by killing it.

You don't really have to switch tabs.. Just click the same tab again to refresh it.
Or better yet. Take the shortcut key Ctrl+F11, and switch it to Ctrl+S as this is much easier to achieve. Just press Ctrl+S twice to fix the bugr. Way annoying still though.
