I don't care, Girlies Aloud are on the telly, I got a nice M&S sweater for Christmas and my tummy is full of mulled wine. Everything is good in the Banana world, so I can wait a few mins before I log in and fly my internet spaceship.

Perhaps the hamsters were given sprouts with their dinner, and they are having problems with them "backfiring".

im nvr ussually on this time of day but it being christmas and all... is it normal for these delays of is the server really screwed

6 months ago the downtime was great, fantastic even. You'd sometimes see the server up half an hour early. However, lately, it seems that ccp is getting comfortable with letting professionalism slip, On average, downtime will last 5-15 minutes more than it's supposed to, and I've seen more than my fair share of + half hours

Please note that it IS christmas day in London where the servers are and some of the staff have had to give up this day with their families to tend the servers. Be thankful that they even kept the servers up at all today. Had it been me in charge at CCP, I would have had a 24 hour DT to allow ALL staff to have at least today off and credited all players with an extra day to compensate.

I, for one, am surprised they didn't have a day of downtime for Xmas day for the staff... so this is one DT I won't begrudge!

Obvious solution - on Christmas Day, the hamsters should get the day off, and the families of CCP staff should power the server treadmills.
1) Staff and families get to spend quality time together
2) Hamsters come back on Boxing Day refreshed
3) Everyone wins
