I've been playing EVE Online for almost 2 days now. I've had my hand in almost every aspect of EVE during the time I've played it. I was a highsec carebear, running Level 1 missions. I did some time in Nullsec, being part of the tackling crew. I have been a pirate in lowsec, failing to attack ships ranging from Carriers to their cyno alts, both solo and in a gang. I've even lived in a wormhole for some time. I am a 5 year old transexual living in Cleveland, Ohio in the USA, failed college twice without a BS in Computer Animation and Design with a Masters in Technology, focused on Quality Assurance and Control.
And I have a rare disease known as Forum Warrioring. ForumWarriorItus, to be exact.
Lately, though, I have noticed that there has been an increase in the use of the word forum warrior. Its been somewhat disturbing to me that its been mostly used in a derogatory way. Anyone who is a highsec carebear n00b pubbie is a forum warrior or heck, even when Goons were interdicting Gallente ice, I've noticed talk about 'Using forum warriors to camp the belts for miners'.
And I'm wondering why is this so? Why is being a forum warrior bad all the sudden? Is it the new 'gay' from the 90s? Can someone explain it to me? Is it just EVE Online or is it ranging all the games on the internet? There is no thread lock which can withstand me

I don't think it's a matter of forum warrioring being "bad" per say, the one example you mentioned- Goonswarm Federation draws the core of it's members from the Something Awful forums. Their counterparts in coalition: TEST are from the Reddit forums. both have an evolved sense of ~community~. Goonswarm and Something Awful as a larger entity insist that members: "Never stop posting." So being a forum warrior is a valuable asset in this context.
However, if I disagree with one of your posts, I may be inclined to do whatever is necessary to disparage you, your corporation and/or alliance. I may call you a "forum warrior"- implying that you do not, or cannot fight ingame and must resort to trolling forums in order to be a nuisance to those who oppose you in or out of game.
In closing, I think the point is: "We are good, you are bad. Why? I don't know. Because I said so."
