Simple question - must be my display, but
when I have something fitted in Number 8 right most
high slot - fits fine, but then is only showing
1-7 high slots on my overview.
My display is cutting off the 8th high slot, so can't effectively use it (have salvager 1 fitted 8 slot now on Raven but would like to actually use it) :P
By mistake, I once got the entire power/overview/weapons to shift from bottom right align to bottom center - so that would do it - but I'd rather have it shifted right - as I keep my chat on bottom left and like to be able to see shield/armor status.
I have done weapons grouping, so actually have 1-6 missiles grouped now, then 1 tractor, and 1 salvager, but can only see the weapons group and tractor now.

It's propably your display. I can move the HUD left or right and to top or bottom of the screen, but never off screen(playing in windowed mode). So it is likely your display is streching the screen. Adjust your display to fuction properly and remember your hotkeys funktion normally even when you can't see the module.
I'm not sure to what you refer to when you speak about bottom center alignment for you HUD. I'm only familiar with aligning it to top/bottom of the screen and moving it to left/right. Up/down with the option in the triangle and left/right with holding down the left mouse button on the capasitor display. If there are more options to move the HUD, I would also like to hear them.

If the drone or overview display are covering your 8th slot, you can shorten the overview display (remove some of the useless clutter too) and move the drone display to the top left corner.

If this is the case, it's really just a question of what you'd like more: 'effectively use' your 8th slot or 'rather have [your HUD] shifted right'.

If you shift the HUD to the left for a few seconds, move the the 8th slot to another spot on the HUD (click and drag, if the slots are not locked [default]), then move your HUD right again, your entire 'problem' is fixed.
In conclusion, your problem is that you refuse to temporarily do the only thing which would fix your problem...

I'm currently restricted to a laptop with a tiny screen, and this is one of many issues I have with Eve not displaying properly on a small screen - with the default HUD position only seven slots will show on my screen (with the 4th to the 7th being covered by the overview).
How to deal with this:
1) Use weapon grouping
2) Shift your HUD over, move the modules you can't see to a place where they'll be visible, then move it back
3) Put completely passive modules in the far slots. It doesn't matter if you can see them or not.
4) Fly smaller ships with fewer slots.

You could also try using higher resolution if your comp/display can handle it.

This. Thanks - this is the easy answer - just use
F8 - which I wasn't doing. Only fit 8th high with salvager so really not a big issue - just used F8
today - worked fine - problem solved. Thanks.
I never did know how I shifted the display center right to center left - was a mistake in hitting keys about 2 weeks ago - and never reproduced. As for
changing display - I had tried that few weeks ago - and had to re-install EVE due to issues.
Simplest solution is one you gave - just use F8. Thanks again.
