Why can't I use pay by cash options like paypal to extend my sub out of the trial?

Well you can use paypal to buy time codes on 3rd party site such as http://www.shatteredcrystal.com.
There are some other sites that sell the codes if you have a look around, but Shattered crystal is the one I've used so I at least know it works.

Because if I pick "change payment method", PayByCash is one of the four available, and the details window says

Oh... to convert trial to paid account... hmm, weird that it won't let you.
Well... yeah, you can always use paypal to buy a GTC to activate, then switch to pay-by-cash later, I guess.

Yeah with my alt it's an option, but i go to sign up out of the trial and it only lets me use credit cards, debit cards, direct debit or time codes :(

Battle clinic is out of time cards until tomorrow, so i will wait but thanks for the help :D

I have the same problem, I'm trying to upgrade my other char but it keeps giving me debit card, credit card and time code as options only. No matter where I click (extend,signup) - same thing  I have successfully upgraded two accounts before this one (mine and friend's acc) and I still can buy time for my 1st char via pay by cash, but can't get out of the freaking trial on the other char!
However, when I go to this link (https://secure.eve-online.com/extendPBC.aspx) when logged in with my trial char I get an option to extend the time via pay by cash ( 1 month for 14.95$) and I'm supposed to pay 19$ for activation so... i'm not sure if that might work  can someone help this poor old woman? CCP? Anyone?!
