Ppl how exactly high priced low volumed items are being transported on transport contracts?
I assumed that those contracts - pic up here, bring there are for noob players, who want to make some ISK without much risk. They can afford collateral and do the job. Now I noticed that sometimes I need some supplies to be transported, where good transport contracts would be in place, but the items are so expensive, that collateral is out of noob reach (talking about salvage materials), also the prices for them are tight, meaning that if you put 15 million collateral then you need to put reasonable salary for transportation! Who are doing such transport missions?
For example if I see that collateral is 15million I expect that I will gain atleast one million for such valuable items, but then 16million for owner may be not so interesting price to get the items in the first place...
What I don't understand?

Your first and major mistake is in thinking that courier contracts are (only) for newbies. Billions worth of cargo is moved via couriers every day, small/cheap couriers are good for new players, bigger (up to several B. in collateral) ones are obviously not. There is quite a lot of corps/individuals specialized in empire logistic services.
I usually set reward to 1-2% of collateral, unless it is too low. In your 15M example, I would offer 500k reward (and I am pretty sure that courier would be done in few hours). If you can't afford to have extra 500k expense on your 15M item, then I guess you can't use couriers to move it, but usually your margins should be strong enough to allow few percents for transportation.

Half the time I have piles of random junk I need moved a few jumps, and I'll throw say 10k Consumer Electronics in a contract at base price, and match that for reward. I just care that it'll get where I want it to fairly fast, and that I don't need to do it. It's unusual for one to take more than an hour from post to deliver.
Then again the stuff I want shipped is fairly cheap and I don't care about the value so much as getting it to me without having to undock.
Perhaps it's something like that, but at higher stakes?

I have been using courrier contracts a lot before they became limited by skills. 100 courriers up at a time was quite normal, and as long as they where in High-Sec and only a few jumps (up to 10) they where mostly completet within 12 to 24 hours. The range of collateral was from about 500k to maybe 100 million, and for the lower ones the reward was roughly 2 to 3 %. The higher ones closer to 1%. Never had troubles to get those things moved, as long as the cargo sizes where right. Some regular runners picked up a couple at the time and with some good route planning they probably made nice profits.

I just find the rewards are never worth it for contracts - unless you can do 3 or 4 at a time.

This tbh!!!
A couple of days ago I found 5 couriers all going from the same start to same end, then from that end system to a different system on my way back. Made easy ISKs that day. And it helps if they are not that big so you can use a small fast ship.
