Hi folks - quick question. Are the core leadership skill (leadership, wing commander, fleet commander) valuable to have in fleet operations?
Also, do squad, wing and fleet commanders automatically apply the best bonus to their underlings or do they have to be selected as a booster just like everyone else (for skills like mining foreman, skrimish warfare etc)
Finally, are their any guides or wikis anyone knows that have info on this side of fleet warfare (guess fleet oragnsation would be a better term..).

I doubt that it does. That link doesn't lead anywhere. This is probably what you were referring to.

What's the difference between a gang and a fleet? I've never quite worked that out, are they the same and gang is like, an old term ?

Pretty much. They used to be called gangs. Then for a while there were gangs and fleets, where gangs were just a loose group of people with no structure (old style gangs) and fleets were what we have now essentially. Then they removed gangs and just left fleets.
I'm not entirely sure why they've called the wiki page "Gang and Fleet Options" though, considering that we've only had fleets for quite a while now.
