I'm sure most of the Caldari and Gallente militia members are aware of what's been going on in VV today so I'm sure I wont get screamed at for giving away intel. I'm still pretty new to militia only been around for a couple of months now, my toon is only about three months old now so I don't know the history of all militia so if I miss something or get it wrong sorry.
Right so Costolle has been vulnerable from around 06:00EVE this morning shortly after that a FOOM force turned up and secured the system stopping the 22nd guys online from taking the bunker, as the day went one more and more Gallente ships have drifted in and now pretty much have Costolle under a full lock down. Now I have been on since 09:00 EVE this morning and only logged off about 30mins ago so I have seen most of the EU days events unfold and in all that time we have only managed to rally one Caldari militia fleet (of around 28 at its highest) this fleet engaged and was wiped out by the defending forces, now when we had that fleet there were 140 people online in militia chat, and just before log off we had 240ish but still not more than 10 feel like coming to VV to fight! So I'm wondering has it always been this way? and is it ever going to change? I'm starting to lose faith in working systems for weeks on end to make them flip if when the final assault comes everyone in the militia would rather fly in OMS and pick off one WT as he goes through!
Also is this the same for you Gal's? do you have as much trouble as us getting people to actually come out and fight?
Lastly I don't want anyone to think this is a thread *****ing at the Gal's you guys are doing a great job and have given us some solid PVP today.

I expect the problem is worse for the caldari as they have alot of mission runners join that millita cus its easy to stay caldari where your agents are then grind up for gal lvl4s and gal have ****ty agents anyway. Ive been in 3 militas and so far the Gal milita are the "most up for it" crowd.
So i blame caldari for having the best shopping, best agents, highest population and most drakes per person lol.

Today Caldari militia is a wreck of what it once was. Many (i'm one of them) just stay because it's not much diffrence for them to be in another NPC corp or militia, since they refuse to give up hope, that FW will come to live again and you hardly ever see gallentes in caldari mission hubs anyways.
I remember the last nice fleets we had were when Steelsoldiers were in FW. Steelcastles was making good fleets almost every day, but at the end we simply had no targets that were willing to fight us. With Steelsoldiers few of our best FCs left FW. After that i joined some of the fleets led by random people who tried to organize something, but it usually end in bad intel or decisions, lost my last 2 battelships without firing a single shot. If we had good FCs and plenty targets, i'm sure many would come back to active play, and then we'd have larger fleets when things happen like the situation described by OP ... but you can't raise a large fleet out of a dead militia.

Also the fact that FOOM has dropped up to 7 carriers on one of our fleets a few days ago and there have been hardly any Carrier pilots in the Caldari militia makes it hardly worth while going for a direct confrontation in Costolle unless you can muster a great numerical majority. (aka BLOB)
Which are actually not that much fun to fly in. Fighting small groups in OMS/Heyd or the Swiggs in Tama can be more entertaining. |

Edited by: Draco Rosso on 30/12/2008 16:23:08 Edited by: Draco Rosso on 30/12/2008 16:19:42 Just because the EU timezone couldn't muster the number do much of anything doesn't mean the other us timezone players were going to sit back and do nothing. Our final push was made of the strongest gang I have seen in months for the Caldari. But unfortunately our window of opportunity closed minutes before we go to our final destination. Burns me up evertime I think about all the hardwork that went into making this happen to have it fail on the last push. FOOM has wayyyyyy to much resources (capital ships, HACS) to be in faction war. We can barely fight them in plex warfare, but when it comes time for the final push all they have to do pull out the capital ships for the win. >: (

If the caldari could organize just a little bit, they could put an end to a lot of what the gallente do(including FOOM). You guys have 1000 more members, put together you have more resources, and also put together, you could wipe FOOM's cap fleet out with no problem. The issue is not resources, its organization and willingness to put ships on the line. 22nd fights. CAIN fights. The caldari militia as a whole does not fight. In the Amarr militia we have also some "dead weight".However we have a very determinied core of pilots and we got used to fight heavily outnumbered.

Maybe I am mistaken but Caldari captured Costolle last night. I was there.... looked like we captured it..... did I miss something?

This was made the day before we took Costolle, we do indeed own it now.
