This is a multi-threaded errr...thread. With the slowdown in PC games of most sorts, there haven't been many/any decent CRPGs of late. I'm having a go at the new NWN2 expansion, Storm of Zehir though it's not really enthralling like the last one was. I was wondering if there are any other NWN2 players out there. Can you recommend any decent modules I can download? What race/class(es) do you play, and have you played online much?
And regarding D&D in general, I understand 4th Ed. is out now. Is it vastly different from 3.5ed? I don't know much (ie anything) about PnP rules, just the implementations in games like the Baldur's Gate saga and NWN(2). Any news of 4ed CRPGs coming out anytime soon? With BioWare concentrating on it's own IPs since JE, the master of the D&D CRPG has made me sad. Obsidian with KOTORII and NWN2 are the only games I know of and those are a year or two old now. -------------

Can't be arsed to keep paying for books tbh. Give me a good tunnels and trolls or runequest based game and I would be happy.

It's vastly different, but still very recognisable as DnD. However it's a system that would mesh well with crpg's, so I'd expect some on the horizon definitely. I haven't been keeping up with 4th edition much (Whenever a new edition comes out, hundreds of posts come out about how the new edition is the end of DnD, and they've lost that particular player forever, think general discussion during the nano nerf on a very slow forum), but that should have died down now so I'll get back into it

I followed 4e's development early on. It's a totally different game in many respects, but still similar in some; there's a huge importance placed on movement and movie-style action, but also fewer choices for specializing (though this may change with future books). There's a lot of things they did right, but a lot I don't care for or agree with, so you should look into it if you want to make your own opinion, especially at rpgnet.
It can, however, be a very useful edition for making CRPGs, so there should definitely be some coming out
