The two categories youÆre going to want to look at are Engineering and Mechanics. If you have more skill points in Engineering, shield tanking is probably best for you. If you have more skill points in Mechanics, go with armor tanking.

Thats worse than my friends tanking thoery class and she isnt well liked for it by hard core pvpers becuase its opened ended on letting players decided how to fit thier tanks.

I just go "Sheriff Jones!" and the missiles get all swoony and the drones all oogly-eyed...or oogly-sensory.

Hmm maybe I should be Shield Tanking then 
2m SP in Engineering, all of it in Capacitor based skills, and only around 1m in Mechanic (Full T2 armor tanking)
She certainly should have looked a bit closer. Especially the bits about the compensation skills was priceless. Those are handy, I admit that, but they're far from the most important skills for the respective tanking types.
