Edited by: Arkaine on 22/07/2004 04:19:55 Edited by: Arkaine on 22/07/2004 04:19:35 Talk about a mess.
65+ ships, 40 minutes, 30+ cans, 20 Battleships shot down, and nearly 0 smack talk.
Was a damn good battle. A fleet of roughly 20 EVOL / RKK / m0o battleships and a few frigs warped into a mixed PA fleet consisting of 40+ ships- at which point absolute bedlam broke out. Just about everyone had a good time whether they survived the battle or not- it was an absolute blast. The battle raged on for about 40 minutes until 7 Rona-KIA battleships reinforced the PA forcing Evolution, Reikoku and m0o forces to withdrawal for the night. According to one PA guy in local, there were 38 cans floating around in the aftermath.
Eye Candy
65 cans and ships identifiable

I'm wondering what the lag was like. Out in TPS space, anything more than 20 ships would cause unbearable lag.

The lag was just on the playable side, but thats it. 20 second load times at the peak of the fight. Scanner was bugged to hell too. The area needs some serious help.
Tho I will agree Cao Cao that vale/tribute/germinate are the worst in eve for lag.

Just playable indeed, however we had 3 confirmed ship losses on our side anyway, due to simple lag, failure to load screen etc. I imagine PA had losses due to the same reason.
I really look fwd to the day you can have a somewhat largish battle without anyone ever having to ask about the lag, but it'll probably never happen
On a side note.. does ANYONE else remember ccp laying a load of bull on us that systems that contained these conq stations, were gonna have extra resources applied to them? I say it was a load, cuz every single time I fight next to one of those damn things, the lag is easily 3x worse then at some random gate.
Anyways, gf, gg etc etc
Evolution..... Just when you thought you were winning.

Yea, I remember they promised that. On the other hand, they promised other things as well
Anyway, sounds like fun, kudos to all involved for taking part in the battle despite lag & stuff. --

The Phoenix Alliance would like to salute all of the warriors who participated in yesterdays battle. It was a great example of a toe-to-toe battleship slug fest. Hats off to all involved for their prowess on the field and sportsman-like conduct on local coms.
Top down view of the battle
On a personal note, I would like to address the CCP team and once again BEG them to fulfill their promise of boosting the resources for this and other combat heavy star systems. Some may consider this lag "just playable" but I do not. I shouldn't have to click on a modual and then watch it activate 5-7 seconds later. "Epic" sized fleet battles are the pinnacle of EVEs combat arenas. Let's give those battles the support they so depserately need.

Cans are cans, cant see from there what the ship was?
could be 9/10 BS or 9/10 frigs?
What ever the cans where,
looking at the screen shots, looks like a great fight, but another call for help from CCP, pay more attention to lag in large engagments.
Props to all the brave fighters involved
