When will we see certificates added for capital ships?
If it wasn't for the fact that I've been told what to train, I would have a hell of a time working it out myself.
And when you've got something that takes 3-6 months to train for just one flavour of this, I think it's worth being able to brag about flying one. Also, some alliances now ask for capital skills as a basic entry qualification.
It is even mentioned as being in there during the Fanfest as funky features coming in Quantum Rise!
So when are we getting Capital ship certifcates!

Not necessary. Why couldn't you just look at the skill prerequisites for the ship you wanted to fly?
What next, a system supplied by CCP that plays the game for you when you're not able to? Sadly in many peoples cases that would be the entirety of their EvE life.

Edited by: annab on 31/12/2008 18:27:42 I agree that all ships, mods and science should be added to the cerificates as it makes it easier for a corp to see if someone has the skills they say they have.
Also the cerificates that go from basic to elite and have no cerificates for those skills at imporved and standard should be added.
It would make the cerificates a way of helping people starting out but also help a corp interviewing a corp member.

This is FEATURES and IDEAS forum. At least have the decency to actually suggest something instead of stealwhine. ----------------------------------------------

Get their limited API key and look at exactly what they have for skills.

Edited by: Rydra Wong on 02/01/2009 12:40:02 We have certificates for frigs up to battleships, but not for carriers/dreads, neither do we have them for the mining/industrial ships.
For using the capital ships there is a lot more than just the pre-requisites, just like with the BS's and below. Just for an example, to use a dreadnought (not just fly it) you need Jump Drive skills, Capital gunnery/missile, Tactical Weapons Reconfiguration. Then once you've got even the skills needed to use the main modules, what about using them properly? Any idea how badly a dread would be if you only had mechanic lvl 2? How useless would a carrier be if you only had Drones lvl 3?
It's a fair and reasonable thing to ask why we do not yet have certificates for these areas, as they are just as complex to train towards, if not more so than the BS and below.
For younger players, if that's where they want to go it will show them the path. For older players, well who wouldn't want to show off they are elite Carrier and Dread pilots with all relevant skills at lvl 5?
