With max skills which would be better?
All i can see is that ishtar is smaller and can speed tank. Dominix is fat and can fat tank.
Discuss.

Ishtar is an awesome ship, cruiser that can run 2x T2 arm reppers constantly, with 94% and 89% kin/therm resist. The explosive is a little prob, but then u loose ur ship, but hey, u do that from time to time, so tanking 3 damage types is good enough in a cruiser that small. I can fit 3 blasters, 1 NOS, AB II, cap rechargers.. 8x T2 heavy drones 6x T2 med drones.. The t2 heavy drones blast through the tank like hell.. ok, u can do that on Domi too, but not keep the distance to stay away from any neutralizers.. u can do that in the Ishtar..
This little ship tanks well, does 550ms with ABII, and ensures u keep a low signature, therefore that alone keeps u a good tank..
I love this ship..

If you run blasters, at all, on an ishtar, you're doing it wrong. Ishtar doesn't have the grid to run blasters and a tank. Use AC's.

A Blaster, Passive Shield Tanked Ishtar is the best Kin/Therm tanking PVE ship in the game. Mine puts out 500+DPS, tanks more than enough, has MWD burst for a minute, and respectable cap recharge. The ship is excellent for PVE and with a full shield tank and an AB can tank 1000 (EFT) Racial dps. As for PVP, fit what you want, the jury is still out on the best setup for this since the patch.
The Dominix is an awesome ship for RR gangs, fleet support, or solo PVP/L4 Misison running. For 0.0 ratting it is overkill and a liability. You do not need that much tank for 0.0 rats and the DPS difference is negligible. A decent scout will scan you down and point you long enough for the cavalry to arrive if you are not aligned properly, or get stuck on a roid (LOL).
Both these ships have their uses as with any ship in the game. I prefer the Ishtar most of the time purely because it is so much quicker to move around. |

yeah, it does. CPU is what I meant.
And I mean PVP fits, not PVE.

First problem here is the DPS. 500? with tech II heavies and drone interfacing V you get 470ish, and with interfacing IV it's still over 400. Are you really going to tell me that you bother getting an ishtar within blaster range for each thing you kill for less then 100 extra DPS?
Comparing the ishtar to the domi is like comparing... we'll say the astarte to the megathron. If you're in a position where you need to move around a lot, pick the former, but if align time is not a big issue the BS will outperform their smaller counterparts in just about every way. |

Yep I get in range for each kill. Doesn't take any time at all and it makes all the difference.
And if you're in a drone boat you really should have Drone Interfacing 5, it's ftw! Fly this ship how you want to, it more fun.
