Hello, I would like the option (perhaps client side) to merge the items hanger and the ships hanger. As a trader, I find it particularly annoying to go into a station and have two different hangers. The crux of the matter is that I have to shift+click two hangers to my cargohold. Generally, this is not a problem but after a while it becomes somewhat of a minor annoyance. Thank you.

OTOH, if you have ONE hangar that you think is all junk and trash it ALL forgetting about <really insanely expensive ship type> in the hangar... it will cause more problems.
This is epecially the case from the "waaaa I just trashed my <really expensive ship> and I deserve to get it reimbursed!" crowd...

I have no intention of trashing anything. I have a freighter and as I go from station to sstation, I collect the items sold at that station (ships, modules, and ammo) and then I dump it into my cargo bay. When I get back home, I would turn the option off.
Furthermore, I fail to see how the situation you posed would cause problems over the existing system. Instead of a aggregation of both ships and items, there exists a aggregation of either ships or items. In either ships or items, you could have a very expensive ship or module or ammo stack which is worth a lot buried under a pile of junk, as you put it. Deletion of the entire hanger is still possible. The problem already exists.

As it is, I have merge "Items" and "Ships" hangers enabled at my post station and I disable it when I go out to collect things. Then I pop up the two windows (Items hanger and Ships hanger) and warp from station to station. This helps alleviate the problem but I would still prefer a option to merge both hangers into one.
