One day I set out to find some Research Lab Slots and I have been finding as many as I have a need for ever since. I only had to look briefly for maybe 30 mins that one day and ever since I have been finding lab slots without having to even look - lab slots become publically available all the time.
Some peeps like to complain about the lack of lab slots but what they are really complaining about is their own laziness. "but I don't want to have to go 10 jumps out of my way just to get some lab slots..." this is what peeps tell me sometimes... I have no problem with going 10 jumps out of my way because I get lab slots I can use to research BPO's meanwhile others cry about the lack of lab slots.

Then how do you explain the fact that I checked every station within 20 jumps from the station my corp generally operates from and not a single one had a free spot. Im not talking about 2 or three stations, over the past few days I have literally checked 30 to 40 stations looking for lab slots (takes some time when you get to play for 2 hours or so a day, and I have devoted nearly all of that to looking for labs). Of those systems, half were 0.4 or less yet all of them had no slots free, either I am on the wrong side of the galaxy for when it comes to finding lab slots, or the scant 2 or three hours I get to play are at the wrong time and I will never find lab slots.

Thats funny I found 12 slots free in 1 station, 8 jumps from yulai last week.

Wow? 12 in one place? I haven't seen that in ages.
I think it's a matter of whether or not you get lucky enough to find the spot no one has checked. Some months ago we found a completely unused station, now it is completely rented out (including our 7 slots that haven't gotten wasted by the weird "you lost a slot" bug).
By the way, my corp is selling research services for anyone who can't find a slot. :)

I think it's a matter of whether or not you get lucky enough to find the spot no one has checked. Some months ago we found a completely unused station, now it is completely rented out (including our 7 slots that haven't gotten wasted by the weird "you lost a slot" bug).

ALL of the Research Slots I have found are in the same Region in Gallente space ! Maybe YOU and those who cannot find them are not looking hard enough. I offered up 2 for sale via Auction and NOBODY placed a bid... this means either nobody wanted to bother with having to go to the systems both slots were in or they got all the slots they wanted. I know some hard working folk in-game to routinely have to travel 30-40 jumps just to talk to their Tech2 R&D Agents every-day and think nothing of it. If you want to get and hold Lab Slots then do what ya gotta do and stop crying about the lack of slots ! |

I would agree, but i saw it was a research station in a system in low sec space and out of the way. That was my reason for checking in 1st place  .

Ok call me lazy or what ever you will, but why should we have to spend countless hours looking for a lab slot?
Really no one can say that thier are enough lab slots in the game, no one.
I can find office space, facotry space, what ever i need in almost any station in any region with the expection of lab slots.
I would give my right leg to find a lab slot in my current region.
I dont mind having to make 10 or so jumps for a lab slot, not at all. But it would be super nice if I could actuallly find more then one slot within 4 jumps of each other.

The huge benefit of having lab slots is something you should have to make an effort for. Do you get everything else in your life on a plate or something? |

Actually youll find the majority of complaints centre on the relative abundance of factory and office space compared to research space.
given that if your researching a number of small equipment BPOs up some ME and have 3 research slots each 8 jumps apart, your looking at 8 jumps a day switching to the next BPO to keep your research going. Bit stupid when you can nearly always find 6 factories within a jump of the highway in the first region you check, isnt it?
of course, with you finding labs so easy, ill give you 20m if you can get me an office and 3 labs in a station in minmatar space  easy money eh?

You have to be incredibly lucky to find a publically available lab slot before someone else snatches it. Searching for a free slot is mostly futile.
Real Estate channel = Zeepo/scammers.
