It is well known that the first four days of the tournament won't be covered live. However I am curious as to whether the first four days will be recorded and able to be viewed at a later point. I don't know how others feel but I do enjoy watching all the fights.

We dont need the commentators and all that studio talk. Just record it and make it availeble as download.

i agree!
i wasnt around for the last tourney and had to watch the back log on eve tv. they were awesome and i'd hate to miss out on any part of it |

This is not 100%, but I guess 99%  . We'll be recording each match and uploading them for viewing within a couple of days*.
*Days at the most, as usual I'll do my best to get this stuff turned around as quickly as possible and I would hope to have matches available in under 24 hours, but no promises.

will there be some kind of summary of each fight posted? knowing what other teams are bringing in the early rounds is a pretty huge part of tourney planning. |

well gutted.
every year i enjoyed one good thing about eve, that would be eve-tv and the whole alliance torney. radio its no good if you cant see whats happening, pictures speak louder than words. i enjoyed every years live feeds, infact i learnt alot as a new player watching eve-tv and the torney.i watched BOB win i watched them loose, i saw the famous imperial apoc die.
the fun in eve just died here

It seems that such a TV-Show is too expensive for CCP. I can understand that, but a simple Livestream would be ok.
All that studio and "real" TV-thing is not that important to me. |

There seems to be a bit of misconception that we will not be doing a live tv broadcast. We are!
The final 2 days (31 ELIMINATION matches!) will be covered via live webcast in exactly the same fashion as previous tournaments
For information on how to tune in to coverage of ALL matches, see the sticky thread here.
In addition, all qualifying matches will be viewable on youtube after they are compressed and uploaded.

you said it there what happened too the other days ?
i enjoyed the old tornaments and viewing livestream coverage of all matches, not just the last two days. the leading up matches are more exciting i think to watch live.
anyways i wont argue anymore whats done is done

the 10 minute cap might be an issue for some matches and the video quality sucks. we want to be able to see what is happening, and you just cant with the tiny low quality youtube screen |

Peoples hate movies uploaded to YouTube, and now CCP do it ....
oh well... better than nothing... gonna have to watch the tournament unable to read the names on the screen again =/

Well, I think CCP has failed their players by not broadcasting it like they had in years past. No, I dont visit the forums often to keep up with info because I assume CCP realized the tournament gave Eve an aspect of gameplay that surpassed all other MMOs out there. Like a few others I'm sure, I woke up earlier than I normally do all excited. "Radio... wtf is this?!" Radio? Seriously? So what... that is pretty useless to me... this is a generation that lives on VIDEO games, not radio games.
So, even if the Tournament is posted in a few days, I'll find out what happened with my own alliance fight before I even get a chance to watch it. Well @%$& it, there went all the fun of watching them live. So, instead of "Whats going to happen!?" we are left with "Okay, how exactly did it go that way *yawn*".
Fail.
Like its been mentioned on the Eve news: CCP has breaking online player records, so Eve should be gaining players weekly. Other than that, why didn't CCP post a HUGE blurb on the login news or send mail to EVERY player in-game asking for donations to help support Eve TV live broadcast for this tournament? You guys KNOW Eve-Radio works, so you should have realized that player donations would have gotten you all you needed for the tournament.
CCP, this failure will be lessened as everyone gets a chance to FINALLY watch their alliances battle away, but the feelings of being let down or betrayed will still remain for a very long time. I used the live Eve TV tournament as a way to brag about how bad-ass Eve Online is, but this failure just puts Eve back with all the other MMOs... back to mediocrity.
No one is going to quit Eve because of this, but this will only damage our very high appreciation of the game and the pride we had in being able to watch what is, for some, one of the greatest highlights of the game.
Our high expectations, just as the saying goes, have fallen pretty far and crashed on its face.
I hope CCP will use better judgment in the future. Dont be like all the other boring MMOs out there. Realize that this edge is a sale point to others bored to hell of the standard MMO FoF salvo of 'just another game with updates'.
Go the extra mile, CCP, it will help in all things.

PLEASE use the absolut best quality you can do as youtube is normaly the worst quality I know :(.
Normal youtube quality == not even worth to consider about watching! |
