Now Ive been trying to think this through but kindof want to see what others ideas on this topic is.
My original thought was it would be SOE sized battle cruiser that would have a 4/6/6 slot layout, 1 turret, 0 missile slots, 75m3 drone bay, 400m3 cargo.
Special Ability: 10% Reduction to duration/activation time of modules requiring Hacking and Archaeology.
Battlecruiser Skill Bonus: 10% Increase in drone Hitpoints and damage per skill level and 5% Increase to all shield and armor resists.
Covert Ops Skill Bonus: -98% to -100% reduced CPU need for cloaking device per level and 15% reduction to duration/activation time of modules requiring Astrometrics per level.
Not great I know but the idea is since it a SOE style ship it really shouldn't be able to have any real offensive abilities only reason i put a turret slot was for either probe launcher or cloak since i cant remeber if they require a hardpoint. Also this ship obviously by the bonuses would decrease scan time and common exploration modules, but also it will allow someone to actually complete most high-sec explo sites and possible some low/null sec ones as well by utilizing drones.

I kind of like the idea of having bc/bs class ship with bonuses for exploration and ability to sneak around in 0.0, might actually make exploration more interesting once you don't need to drag around a separate probing ship.

LOL, in the general discussion I just posted this idea in someone else's thread, but a transport ship that can carry other ships so you can keep them all together. I use 4-5 ships, a covert ops, and two BC's, one for arcsal and another for hack sites. Plus I have a BC and BS for combat sites. It would be nice to carry all of them to a system and that way I can move farther out from my home station with out running back and forth to a single station.
Barring my idea, I like the other of having a one role ship. Maybe the SOE ship could have a built in probe launcher, analyzer, codebreaker, salavager, and cloak, so people don't abuse it by filling slots as a pure combat ship or slots that only accept those mods. Using drones in lo sec is a death warrant, so I would not depend on them. You would need some type of good defense and offense options. If you have a single role ship then it needs to operate in lo sec just as well as hi sec or make a t2 ship to handle lo sec.

Love the idea completely. Really though i love the ship ideas. Having an array of frig to cap sized exploring vessels which allow for long term deep space exploration.
The actual idea of DSE is really well thought out though the methods you posted on moving about and finding things iam still trying to comprehend will have to do another read through to make sure.
Keep the ideas coming..
