This is not an actual patch note, but does everyone else thinks this would be a GREAT idea?

Its not being lazy, its being efficient.

the point is, whilst in a world where warp technology is mundane, wiring the drone recall button to the initiate warp button is a piece of ****. in a game it just becomes an extra bit of automation, and automation is largely the antithesis of what eve's all about.
once they automatically scoop, since they already auto engage when you attack somebody, why not automatically deploy them when you're aggro'd? surely that's just another simple change that the players would support? and if drones do that surely guns should too. etc.
better imo that players need to remember to collect their drones before they warp off, or possibly even think twice before dumping a cloud of ecm drones the moment the come out of warp.
in the last week i've lost three dronebays full of hob2s, but it was my fault that i did rather than some error in the game logic.

ry ry I think the reason has nothing to do with being lazy or automation but, because when you get DC'd drones get killed. I have lost entire drone bays cuz of this. SO, If there is an option for me not to lose multiple flights of drones during laggy periods of eve then I am all for it.

This. "Return to drone bay" was almost fixed, once. Then they borked it again with recent patches.
Now it's even worse than it was. Sometimes drones return to me and then orbit at MWD speed, refusing to get in the bay. That, however, is a picnic compared to drones that return and then sit in space, abandoned, about 4km away. Did I click "Abandon drones"? I think not. So why decide you're not my drones any more, FFS.
And yes, I have bug-reported this (on another account) with varying degrees of getting the bug accepted.

but he would have been agressed through his drones, and as such would be very probe-able.
Its a shame those cloaking farming ravens dont use drones lol Please resize image to a maximum of 400 x 120, not exceeding 24000 bytes. If you would like further details please mail [email protected] ~Saint |

Well, remember not everyone PvPs. A mission runner would LOVE this setting, and even a large number of PvPers would use this setting. It does not take drones that long to return to drone bay.

If that applied to emergency warps as well then it might be a solution to the problem of D/C'd carriers losing their fighters... But it would have to work. --

So I guess this option would prevent a ship from warping away until all the drones have returned? This would effectively be warp jamming my own ship as there is always at least one drone insisting on orbiting just out of scooping range when I recall them at the moment.
I have personally lost a few ships in the past foolishly waiting a couple of seconds extra just to save some drones and ending up in a pod because of it.
Bad idea.
