Yes. What is the deal with that? To the OP, consider more extensive filtering. I do some hard core filtering on my trade alt and it seems to help.

I'll tell you a story I tell everyone, that usually gets the trade click in their brain working.
Said friend is pirating in low sec tags a ratter. Said ratter then grabs another ship in a vain attempt to exact revenge on my friend. He is promptly blown up and replaces his ship again and exits stage left back to empire to nurse his wounds.
Said friend tells me about this exchange. I ask him where it took place, and he tells me. I ask him what ships they were and he tells me. I ask him finally who was this benefactor of his gun love and he tells me.
I then take a look at my logs, and low and behold. I just happen to have sold him his original ship, his second ship after I manipulated the market up for an inflated price, and his third ship at an even more inflated price because I ****d the market in that particular station.
I tell him this story and he replies
"And they call us pirates"
Anyway, the point of this long winded rememberence is that market activity can have a very dramatic and violent impact on your EVE life. There isn't a single player in this game that hasn't felt the results of traders exacting what isk they can out of the game and preventing others from doing the same.
Keep that in mind next time you buy your next PVP fit. |

I too had this same issue about a month ago. Any time I would query any aspect of the Market the entire game would freeze for 5-15 seconds inside or out of stations in any system. I'm playing on a computer that runs premium graphics at 16bil fps but I DON'T have the freeze issue on my dinky laptop.
Sorry, I'm bad at dates, but the problem cleared up a week or two later just before Xmas... I didn't clear any caches or make any adjustment to my machine at all.
This was such a pain in the ass that I would only trade on my laptop.
I just wanted to post here to confirm that I had the same issue with the game freezing upon market requests. There seems to be a bit of negative feedback here from people who think this is 'normal' market window delay, which is very different than what the OP, some others and myself have experienced.

I *only* trade in Jita, and as such the improvements lately have been so dramatic I am staggered that anyone would complain. But you are right, even as much improved as it is, it's still laggy as hell.
Everything I do in the market UI has over time been trained to account for the lag and it's now instinctive, I don't even think about the 2 or 3 second pauses I automatically make to let the UI catch up at certain points.
I kind of regard this as part of my skillset now, I would consider any fixes to either make the system less laggy or to make the UI behave in less moronic ways to be a nerf to myself.
Long live the lag!!! |

I don't mean to pick on you, Tiirae, but if I'm correct, the OP is having a different issue with the game completely freezing for 5-15 seconds every time market data is requested through the market UI. I experienced the same thing and once it cleared up I went back to the 'normal' 2-3 second market UI lag (which I welcomed, gratefully) as you're describing. |

Well I've never had that. Just the usual 0.5 to 2 seconds that accompanies most actions/refreshes.
And you may pick on me as much as you want, on these forums I expect every post I make to be ridiculed as a matter of course... |

I can only conclude it is a fundamental problem with the design of the market UI and/or client.
What could help you is disabling automatic market update after order change, especially on Jita it is a big help. Another thing that causes interface lag (to me) is too big cache (especially if your PCs are older, like mine, it can help). I also noticed that some of the market filters can slow things down and it is not good idea to have the left panel set to Browse, rather set it to Search or Quickbar, it seems to be faster for me.
Maybe it helps. Market for me seems to be OK now, even on Jita it is possible to process orders at "maximum speed" most of the time...

What would be nice is a small bit of "loading" text rather than an annoying freeze. A few small tweaks of the interface would be ideal whith say the ability to have multiple windows loading a different order each for example (I don't trade often so I don't know if you can already do this). Small things like that would make a big difference and I doubt it'd take long to implement changes like that. |

To me it seems like the market has gotten more laggy in the past few weeks, even in less populated regions.
And I wanted to second the person who noted how the market seems to display the prices quickly and then clears them, and only then displays them again after the lag is done. |

I found that my in-game market performance increased significantly as a side-effect of patching tcpip.sys for torrentz.
Has anyone else tried this?
