Edited by: Par''Gellen on 06/01/2009 13:40:40 CCP already sells isk indirectly through their GTC system. Granted you aren't buying it from CCP themselves but you can use it to buy isk from other players. If you want to buy isk you'd have to be a blazing moron to do it through any other system.
That being said, these isk sellers only exist because there are still players out there that will buy from them instead of using GTC's. It's truely baffling how stupid some people are. Maybe CCP should advertise the "isk for cash" side of their GTC system. It seems like a lot of players have no idea it even exists. ---

You're right. 60-Day GTC from Shattered Crystal = $35 Broken into two 30-Day PLEX in-game items = 640 Million Isk (320 million isk each based on open buy orders in Jita)
However, I was only pointing out that it is currently possible to purchase isk legally through CCP's current systems. ---

Here is what I would do if I were in charge of CCP:
1. Already happens - GM gets a report of some terd spamming an isk selling website in a public channel. 2. Already happens - GM checks the log for that channel for the offender. 3. Needs to happen - GM does not ban/boot/or otherwise do anything at all to the spammer. Let him think he's a l337 H4xX0r and that he has pulled one over on CCP. 3. Needs to happen - GM copies the web site URL (or whatever text if they are trying to mask it) and pastes it into the Big-Old-Chat-Filter-Of-Doom. 4. Needs to happen - From then on any chat containing that URL or mask text would appear on the spammer's screen (and possibly any computer from the same IP if they are all behind a router, hehe!) as valid text but not on anyone else's.
This way the terd (and his LAN buddies) thinks he's still spamming and getting away with it and the rest of us are happily not seeing any of it.
Think about it. Why would a normal player have any reason to use a url or clever mask for it to an isk selling site in any chat? What if they do? Oh well who cares? No harm done if it gets chopped.
To any Dev/GM/CCP Employee reading this: You have my 100% loyalty free permission to use this method against the isk spammers. You don't even have to say it was my idea!

Three Step Simple Solution To Isk Sellers:
- GM gets report of isk seller spam.
- GM copies the seller website URL (or clever/not so clever mask) into a filter.
- Any chat in any public channel containing that URL or mask gets filtered from then on.
