Pulse. Scorch. Anyone that tells you different is a liar. ...but on a serious note, more people should have some type of spacer in their sigs to show it's not part of the post.

Pulse and scorch is part of the reason why Amarr is doing so well at the moment. Good DPS at mid-range distances coupled with the quickness of ammo change means you can always be laying on the hurt (and have plenty of cargo space for cap boosters, dancing girls and tobacco).
Beams aren't so good at tracking and unless you want to snipe they are pretty lame. Snipe Zealot is my only reasonable reason to have trained T2 medium beams, well that and T2 Tachs.
As I said earlier Scorch is your friend but if anyone gets too close swap to Amarr Navy Multifrequency. Conflagoration adds minimal dps which doesn't outweigh the negatives of the T2 ammo.

Truth. Although I'd carry multifreqs too, as they are better in one or two situations.
Beams are only really good at battleship level, because tachs are teh sex.

hmm cool. will look into them then.
another thing ive been looking at is trying setups on the harby and even when ive been tryng to fit t1 lazors the pg and cpu on the ship are just weak.
either full gank and no tank or drop guns and go with a tank?
anyone got setups for harby, zealot, abso?

This basically :). There is a few uses for Beams as well (sniping and such), tho for PvP Pulse + Scorch is gold :). Mind, you need T2 Pulses to use the right ammo ;)

Well for gangs Heavy Pulse IIs and low tank is the way to go, smaller gangs or solo then Focused Medium Pulse IIs will allow a 1600mm plate on happily. As someone else said Amarr really shines with T2 ammo so get to it as fast as possible!

I'll be the liar then but I'll tell you why too
A zealot rocks with beams, yuo can easly enough tickle 120 km optimal out of it and be anti frig support. This ofc ain't a solo ship. Zealot is a sniper HAC just like an eagle or muninn and you will kill your fair share of inties and dictors with it, oh and ew ships which are far but not far enough. You can use it in roams and should use it in camps.
Pulses are great on it tho but you can go beams. Harbinger with pulses will roast 3k m/s vagas btw and a beam harby will toast slower targets even better.
In short you have the choice and it depends on your gang composition to know if beams is a good choice, pulses are always good.

I gernally keep Scorch, AN Multifreq, AN Radio, AN Microwave
With the short reload time of lasers, you might as well take advantage of whatever option is best range/tracking wise. For example; AN Microwave and AN Radio are amazing for taking out pesky orbiting frigates. They try to orbit at 20-24km so use your highest tracking option that has an optimal around that range........

Tech 2 Tachyon Beams with Gleam crystals... Terrible tracking, but when it does hit it freakin BURNZ! Ultimate anti battleship weapon imo, 50km optimal and some of the best large turret DPS in the game.

Yeah, their tracking is just horrible - just 45% better than 425mm rails and 55% better than 1400mm arties.
Edit: and yeah, megapulse + scorch/multifreq is one of the FOTMs at the moment. (The other is Falcons.) -- Gradient forum |
