The pilot in question was promoted on the spot and given a medal, but even he didn't think it was all that big of a deal in hindsight. Violet Lady was just punting about in his Ishkur and tackled a flashy Zealot, went in for the kill, screamed in corp for help, then said "Oh... dead". We thought at first he meant he was dead, but in fact it was the Zealot. We lolled over the killmail for about a day then went back to business a usual. Zealot without a web, tracking enhancer or support is a lost cause against an assault frigate - everyone in my corp knows that and you lot should too. It would have been exactly the same if Violet Lady was in the Zealot and Enyalie in the Ishkur, except for the fact that all of you idiots wouldn't have been having heart attacks over it because it would have just been another loss for MXD and none of you have any idea who the hell we are, but given that this was a Veto loss everyone thinks that the sky's falling. I'm not exactly on the best of terms with Verone or his corp, but I'm objective enough to realise that if one careless ship loss is a sign of decline then his corp, along with a whole bunch of others, including yours, would have folded years ago. MXD has stupid losses too, like Sojet trying to smartbomb Jita 4-4. Get the **** over yourselves. ----- CEO, Mixed Metaphor Dance Commander

Unfortunately he was afk at this time, he had told me he was afk, but I ddi not think it would any longer than a few minutes. A few minutes later, my armour all but gone, im starting to worry, having been unable to hit this AF and his drones buzzing about me, being webbed I couldnt quite get far enough inside the belt to disrupt his orbit. After 20k of damage I explode, bouncing my pod out my wingman returns and warps to scene, securing my can, but the AF had quickly skipped away. 10 points GTA mofo to the chap who killed me, it was well fought, a clean fight. If your pirating long enough, hiccups like this happen. I would hope with experience and skillpoints it would happen less, but it happens all the same. In regards to the fit, with the exception of the named over the T2, the fit was perfect for the objective we tasked ourselves to that afternoon. The motivation behind the named mods I really cannot recall. I bought the Zealot in a set of three donkeys ago, one still sits in Huola, one I lost in Nov 07 and the 3rd, the most recent stat on a KB. It could have been a shortage of parts, or funds, or maybe some wacky experiment in shoehorning a 5th HPII onto it, when that change happened. I can also confirm that I did not get any medals for this Kill. Kills and losses are always posted, but not many get this much attention. However I will be fitting in Gallente frigate 5 over the coming months, as it does look like an enjoyable little ship to fly.

I took a big risk engaging him with another Veto pilot in local, hoping he was engaged or afk, only thing i regret is not having the time to loot the wreck . Anyway, good fight, etc etc. /thread

Public relations does not mean in game quality. Veto does a rather good job at maintaining a high oppinion of the public, but I really dont see them as an especially good corp, just as for example Beyond Divinity turned out to be rather sub-par when actually caught in live fire test. Don't want to mean disrespect and I'm only mentioning bydi as an example since it's one of the rare "well known" pirate corps that I ever had the chance to run into and see how they behave outside forums. Don't even want to comment on Gurlstas Associates. You can read much from people's killboards. Not only from checking fits among losses, but also taking average amount of involved parties in kills and losses into consideration and compare amount of industrial/frig/rookie ship/whatever useless ship kills to amount of battleship/battlecruiser kills, gives a good general picture although of course not always 100% accurate. But as a rule those with too many industrial kills are usually not particulary "good" at some serious form of pvp when facing comparable odds.
