CCP had/has some issues with foreign investments which may/could have forced them to leave Iceland.
Short summary: They would be getting too much money under the current Icelandic rules.
So is CCP going to survive: yes.

Icelandic Kroner is very weak atm, so if you have lots of money coming in, in different currencies, and then try and convert it to ISK to pay staff etc... |

Icelandic government set some rules about the amount of foreign currency a person and business is allowed to have. I'm sure there's a sound economic reason for it. Probably to steady the Kroner.

Most are doing just fine.
Some people are worried about their loans, as they over invested, like buying cars and houses on 100% credit.
But those are just stupid/naive people.
Who cares if some billionairs lose some money on stocks. Rule number one is: "Don't invest money you cant afford to lose".
As for people not having enough food, well, my garlic soaked lobster I had last night would disagree
Anyways, most people are doing just fine, alltho loans have gone up due to the inflation and foreign exchange rates, but that's about it. |
