Based on .dmp files sent to [email protected] we belive that we have fixed most, if not all, CTD issues. 1083 should be pretty clean, if you are experiencing CTDs in 1083 or up, please send a .dmp and a .lbw to [email protected] DxDiag.txt is also of assistance to us.

A CTD is a Crash To Desktop.
Other issues may be addressed elsewhere, but please keep this topic clear for information about CTD issues only.

Ah now 1083 seems much better. I used to have very few problems with CTDs or BSODs or anything else until the infamous main server patch last Friday.
After over 3 hours with 1083 I've suffered only 1 CTD, which might not've been Eve's fault anyway, and 1 BSOD which also killed the logging server !
Both failures occured while in combat. The first time I couldn't recall anything unusal, but for the BSOD crash I noticed it happened shortly after an npc pirate started locking onto me, despite the fact I couldn't detect the pirate on radar or screen.
Please tell me these latest bug fixes will be applied to the main client soon as most of my corp mates can't play anymore.

Does this fix the mal formed packets problem? This is a daily problem with me.
If I click very quickly ok multiple medium power slot items I will be dumped from the game due to a reported bad packet.

Castaa Can you please send me a log of a corrupt packet event. We have to close the connection each time we detect a malformed packet, it is not possible to discern between a local packet corruption and a hack attack. The problem you are having is affecting a very small subset of our users and can usually be traced to some local issue (netcard, router, firewall, etc.). If you get me a log to [email protected] I might be able to figure out what is going on at your end.
Ivvor Can you send me a .lbw and a .dmp to [email protected] from a CTD during combat? Have you verified that you have the latest drivers for your sound card? This sounds a little bit like that could be the cause.

Ironically, after playing around with the 1083 patch and sending in my last post, I decided to move back to the main servers to see if the daily downtime had actually fixed anything for me.
To my surprise I haven't crashed on the main servers since then !
I haven't tested 1084 yet as I'm on a modem and it's a big patch, but I'll update my sound drivers and see if I can break 1084 when I finally get it installed. |
