I would like to see a rotating timer (just like the module on the HUD) to appear around the little icon that is next to the target. Would make it beneficial to know what laser needs to be shut off when "guessing" when the asteroid is about to be mined out. Should work to benefit the info in the scanner and make it alot more valuable. Another Idea would be to give each laser an icon or number/letter symbol on both the HUD and the small Icon near the target. Then you can use the timer on the main HUD laser icon to achieve the same goal. |

Here's how you can achieve what you are after without any modifications. In your ore scanner window select the roid that you have locked that is low on ore. It will show the rotating icon around the target at the top. Click on the mining laser, or strip miner, icon. This will deactivate the laser. Pretty simple and doesn't need any more enhancements. ------------------------------------

I waste alot of time and cpu shutting off the correct laser at the wrong time. The scanner is great for telling me that an asteroid is near its end of life. I can't tell if the laser is ready to end its life or not. I look at the bottom of my screen and see three mining lasers all at different levels of their cycle. Which one is the right one to turn off because its on the correct target?

Use your ore scanner to select the roid that's almost depleted in your targeting frames. Then click on the mining laser icon next to the target frame. Hopefully you have an idea of your yield so you can work it pretty accurately.
