Consider this. I go to an asteroid belt in empire space and test my smartbomb. Concord gank me.
Why?
Because an anchored secure container was nearby!
Why is this situation totally ridiculous? Because it is not possible anymore to anchor secure containers in high sec sectors!
Please remove the damned secure containers in high sec space! Or, please let us destroy them!

given the monsterous amount of hit points these containers have I think Concords reaction is a little hasty.
If there are repeated attacks on a can, doing it significant damage then concord should respond, but the odd micro smart fending off a rats missile should not be reason for 7 concord fellows to come in and gank a frigate.

I think his point is that he hit a can that should not have still existed.
I still routinely run across belts in 0.8 and higher rated systems that are nothing but a collection of Large Secure containers.

smartbomb + secure space = idiot
its far too easy to accidentally use them - also, if you wanted to test it why not go to a moon where you're garunteed not to hit anything?

I was going to post the same thing, if a tad less harshly. Don't even FIT a smartbomb in secure empire space (or torps either for that matter). Accidents are bound to happen.

Just imagine, for a sec, the amount of code EVE would contain if it should be "fool-proof" in all aspects...  Not possible.
