I know salvage is used to make items but whats the next stage in making it useable?
If I fix the broken and burned parts will I be able to get more isk for them?
Sorry if this sounds bumb but I know next to nothing about EVE industry

With the different salvaged parts you can make rigs for ships.

Salvage parts aren't 'fixed', they are used in construction of Rigs.
Rig BPCs are fairly cheap on contracts, expect around half a mil for a max run (1,000) print with perfect ML.
A lot of the common rigs can be bought in high volume trade areas for at or close to material cost though, so bare that in mind if you intend to make and sell rigs.

Each rig usually requires 3 types of salvage. Two will be fairly common, one will be rarer and thus cost the most. The market value of the items added together will be near the market cost of the rig in question.
Rigs are more expensive as you get farther away from large trade hubs.
If you do a lot of missioning and glean a lot of salvage, you might want to invest in a set of T1 rig BPO's. They never run out and can be resold in the distant future for probably more than you paid for them.
If you like to fly a menagerie of ships and tinker with their setups, being able to build your own rigs out of your salvage is a big plus.

Edited by: Aluka 7th on 11/01/2009 17:42:47 Answer: With "broken" salvage materials (they have yellow background) you build Tech 1 rigs using blueprint copy (BPC) bought through contracts or using blueprint original (BPO) available on market.
With functional (not broken, blue background) you build Tech 2 rigs using BPC bought from contracts.
Additional info:
Regarding rigs you should be aware of few things.
Salvage materials are divided in basic two sub groups: Circuits & Non-circuits. Circuits drop all over eve. Non-circuits are race/faction specific. Wrecks drop rate depends if it's from a mission (50%) or asteroid belt (75%) - asteroid belt NPC pirate ships have a better drop rate. Usual drop per ships size is: frigates - 1 non-circuit, 2 circuits cruisers - 1 non-circuit, 4 circuits battle cruisers - 1 to 2 non-circuit, 6 circuits battleship - 1 to 3 non-circuit 8+ circuits
Tech 1 player ships and NPC ships drop only "broken salvage" when poped, Tech 2 player ships drop mix of "broken" and "working" salvage.
P.S. Most of used info is from Salvaging Guide written by Voidvim

Rig BPOs are quite cheap, no reason to buy BPC really. .............

The only reason to buy a BPC for a rig is to get some pre-researched blueprints. ______________________________________________________ Isn't it enough to know that I ruined a pony making a gift for you? |
